CORAS

Mclean, VA

Job description

CORAS is an AI-native decision intelligence platform purpose-built for the Department of War and federal agencies. We provide high-stakes decision-makers with real-time data, agentic automation, and mission-critical insights across secure environments. At CORAS, we are redefining how the Pentagon and national security leaders govern complex programs, portfolios, and budgets through cutting-edge AI.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly organized, process-driven IT Support & Operations Associate to join our team in McLean. This is an Intern-to-Hire opportunity designed for a recent college graduate or a senior-level student looking to launch a career in Federal Cybersecurity and IT Operations.

Working directly with the Director of facility security, you will play a critical role in our Cybersecurity Certification efforts. This position is a "deep dive" into the administrative and technical requirements of maintaining Authority to Operate (ATO) in a FedRAMP High environment. You will bridge the gap between technical infrastructure and the rigorous compliance standards required to protect national security data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the administrative heavy lifting of cyber assessment processes. You will help gather evidence, track milestones, and ensure our systems meet the criteria for federal ATOs.
  • Create and maintain clear SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and internal IT documentation that satisfy strict audit requirements.
  • Support the Director with project tracking, IT asset management, and vendor coordination to ensure operational excellence.
  • Identify and document technical workflows to ensure all IT systems and security procedures are replicable and audit-ready.
  • Utilize foundational networking knowledge to assist in documenting network maps, hardware configurations, and IP schemas as they relate to security boundaries.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Highly Organized with an "eye for detail" and can manage the administrative rigor required for federal certifications.
  • You can translate complex technical processes into actionable written instructions.
  • Basic understanding of networking and a strong interest in Cyber Compliance (NIST, FedRAMP, etc.).
  • Due to our work with the Department of War and our FedRAMP High authorization, this position requires U.S. Citizenship.

What You’ll Gain

  • Successful performance during this 6-month period can lead to a full-time career at CORAS.
  • Hands-on experience with the ATO process and federal cyber assessment frameworks, highly valuable skills in the defense tech sector.
  • Work side-by-side with the Director of facility security in a high-growth AI environment.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work a hybrid schedule with on-site presence in McLean, VA.
  • Commitment to a part-time schedule (under 35 hours/week) for the initial 4-month duration
  • Strong proficiency in organizational tools (Word, SharePoint, Excel/Spreadsheets).
