Position Overview
We are seeking a Principal-level DNS Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead mission-critical network operations in a highly secure environment. This is a Key Personnel role requiring deep, hands-on expertise in DNS architecture, BGP routing, and cloud networking integration. This position requires an active Top Secret clearance (with SCI eligibility) and is located in Maryland, requiring on-site work a minimum of 3 days per week.
Day-To-Day Duties and Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership: Serve as the primary technical authority for enterprise DNS architecture, engineering, and mission-critical network operations.
  • Network Engineering: Manage, configure, and troubleshoot complex BGP routing and broader network infrastructure in highly secure, classified environments.
  • Cloud Integration: Lead the design and secure management of cloud networking architectures (AWS, Azure, or hybrid) and their integration with on-premise classified networks.
  • High Availability Operations: Ensure the absolute resiliency, zero-downtime availability, and security of core network services and critical infrastructure.
  • Incident Response: Act as the ultimate technical escalation point for diagnosing and resolving severe network outages, DNS failures, or routing anomalies
Minimum Qualifications
  • Clearance: Active DoD Top Secret (TS) clearance, with the eligibility to obtain and hold SCI access.
  • Location: Must be local to Maryland with the ability to work on-site a minimum of 3 days per week.
  • Extensive professional experience managing network operations in secure, classified environments.
  •  Deep, hands-on engineering expertise in enterprise DNS architecture, implementation, and management.
  • Expert-level knowledge of core networking protocols, specifically BGP routing and large-scale infrastructure operations.
  • Proven hands-on experience designing and supporting cloud networking environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure while supporting mission-critical, zero-downtime operations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI clearance (with or without polygraph).
  • Expert-level networking certifications (e.g., CCIE, JNCIE, or equivalent).
  • Advanced cloud networking certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty).
  • Previous experience operating within Fort Meade or similar high-security Intelligence Community (IC) environments.
