Position Summary
The IT Associate is a mid-level technical role responsible for providing reliable, onsite IT support and contributing to the stability, security, and continuous improvement of Alicat Scientific's IT infrastructure. This position supports end users, servers, and network systems in a manufacturing and engineering environment and works with limited supervision to diagnose issues, implement solutions, and support ongoing IT initiatives. #Alicat
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a primary onsite IT support resource for Windows-based desktops, laptops, peripherals, and Microsoft 365 services
  • Independently diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex hardware, operating system, application, server, and network connectivity issues
  • Administer and support Windows Server infrastructure including Active Directory, file services, DNS, and DHCP
  • Support and troubleshoot wired and wireless networking, VPN connectivity, and remote access solutions
  • Perform system and device deployment, imaging, software installation, patching, and lifecycle management
  • Manage and resolve IT support tickets with accurate and timely documentation
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend or implement process, configuration, or infrastructure improvements
  • Assist with server, network, and endpoint maintenance, upgrades, and IT projects
  • Ensure adherence to IT policies, security standards, and change management procedures
  • Collaborate with IT team members, vendors, and internal stakeholders
  • Communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users
  • Support production-floor and engineering systems as required in a manufacturing environment
  • Participate in after-hours maintenance windows or on-call rotations as required

Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or 3-5 years of progressive IT support experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365 administration and support
  • Hands-on experience supporting Windows Server environments and Active Directory
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP
  • Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
  • Experience using ticketing systems and maintaining technical documentation
  • Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced, onsite manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting IT systems in manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environments
  • Familiarity with ERP or other business-critical applications
  • Exposure to virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V or VMware
  • Experience with endpoint management, patching, or cybersecurity controls
  • Knowledge of backup, recovery, and system monitoring concepts
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA or Microsoft credentials
