Job description

Do you enjoy traveling to client sites to conquer exciting IT challenges? Are you looking for a supportive, dynamic work environment where you can focus on building professional relationships and helping local clients? If so, we have an opportunity for you!

Allwire Technologies is a boutique managed IT services company, based in Redmond, solving complex technology challenges for businesses that depend on secure, reliable infrastructure. Our small, collaborative, high-performing team brings deep technical expertise to help clients manage, improve, and modernize their IT environments. We’re technical, responsive, and practical. We’re growing and we’re ready to add a new IT Tech to our amazing team!

As part of our team, you’ll navigate a wide range of IT tasks and projects, with a strong emphasis on client satisfaction. We support locally owned and mid-market businesses across aerospace and engineering, healthcare, transportation and logistics, food manufacturing, and professional services, upholding a standard of excellence our customers have come to expect from us.

If you have deep technical knowledge, strong communication skills, enjoy on-site visits to client sites and datacenters, and bring a collaborative spirit, you’ll thrive in our client-focused, fast-paced environment.

Here’s an overview of what you’ll be doing:

  • Manage Microsoft 365 Intune/Entra ID hybrid environments, including Autopilot enrollment, and automate tasks using PowerShell and Azure.
  • Plan and execute IT projects, ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, propose solution options, and work with the team to land on the best fit.
  • Balance remote responsibilities with on-site client and datacenter interactions.
  • Maintain current knowledge of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection for client systems.
  • Use help desk and RMM software such as Spiceworks and NinjaOne (NinjaRMM) for comprehensive client support and issue resolution.
  • Employ tools like Slack, Trello, Toggl, Google Calendar, and Outlook for project management and team collaboration.
  • Spec, build, and test high-performance workstations, desktops, and rack servers.
  • Configure and audit WatchGuard, Cisco (Meraki), Extreme, Fortinet, Ruckus, and Aruba firewalls, switches, and wireless to safeguard data and communications.
  • Maintain datacenter switches, firewalls, and routers for internal and external customers, including secure remote access (Tailscale) and edge services (Cloudflare).

Here’s what we’re looking for:

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Intune, supported by certifications, work experience, or homelab projects.
  • Ability to troubleshoot with limited information and comfort seeking it from multiple sources (the client included!) to trace issues.
  • Strong general knowledge of firewall, switch, router, and security-related technologies.
  • Excellent grammar and communication skills, with a collaborative spirit.
  • Team-oriented mindset, willingness to learn and be coached, and enjoyment of travel for on-site client interactions.
  • Comfortable using AI tools to assist in organization, communication, and system troubleshooting.
  • Reliable personal vehicle, and valid WA driver's license
  • Reliable home internet for remote workdays.
  • Speak and write English fluently

Preferred:

  • Experience with Intune and/or SCCM application packaging combined with strong PowerShell understanding.
  • Comfort reading and adapting scripts (PowerShell, Python, light code) with AI assistance.
  • Proficiency in cloud networking and security principles in Azure, particularly Azure Virtual Desktop, Bicep templating, Virtual Networks, Virtual Machines, and Gateways.
  • Understanding of Docker and basic troubleshooting knowledge of Kubernetes.
  • General Linux shell knowledge (Ubuntu/Debian preferred) and understanding of the technical differences between distributions for server and desktop use.
  • Familiarity with backup/DR (Veeam), storage (Pure Storage, Nimble), and email security (Proofpoint).
  • Technical writing experience and the ability to translate technical information for the general user.

You’ll be successful here if you are:

  • Are comfortable working in a hybrid environment
  • Enjoy going onsite to work with clients (up to 25% of the time)
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable juggling multiple priorities without losing track
  • A clear, professional communicator
  • Someone who notices what needs to be done and takes initiative
  • Calm when priorities shift
  • Comfortable working independently in a small business environment
  • Willing to improve a process, chase down an answer, or roll up your sleeves to get something done

Here’s why you’ll love working at Allwire Technologies:

At Allwire, you won’t be a tiny piece of a huge machine. Your work will be visible, valued, and directly connected to how well we serve our clients. You’ll be part of a small but mighty team where:

  • Ideas are welcome
  • Ownership matters
  • Everyone contributes
  • Smart processes make everyone better

We offer competitive pay, medical, dental, vision, Rx, paid sick leave, vacation, 401(k) retirement savings, and continuing education support.

If you love solving deep technical problems for a living and want to join a small, cohesive, fast-moving technology team, we’d love to meet you! Contact us today with your resume and pay requirement!

Allwire Technologies is an equal opportunity employer. Candidates only please.
