Job Description:
LearningObjectives:
This position will provide students with event production experience in both a professional and educational setting. By having a real-world experience in the production profession, students will be better equipped to succeed in the job market and create stronger transfer credentials. This internship places students in a results-based domain, allowing them to acclimate to a deadline-driven, client-focused profession while fostering a networking environment and forging valuable resources as they further their careers.
Responsibilities & Duties: This opportunity will providestudents with theater and event production experience in a professional andeducational setting. Students will assist the Technical Theater departmenton events that take place in our theater spaces such as meeting, performances,classes, rehearsals and other events with internal and external clients. During event productions, students will assist with set up and strike, movingequipment on and off-stage, audio, lighting and stage management. Duringproductions of plays students will serve as part of the run crew. Thismay include assisting with set and prop construction, wardrobe changes,operating the lighting board and operating the audio board. Ideal candidateswill be in the Creative Arts degree programs or have previous theaterexperience from high school or community theater.
Required Qualifications:
  • Consistently maintain 6 credit hours each semester;
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress;
  • Adhere to College's confidentiality policy;
  • Successfully pass background/drug screening;
  • Answer phone and take messages;
  • Clerical duties such as filing, data entry, copying and faxing;
  • Open and sort mail;
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills;
  • Willingness to learn new technology;
  • Assist with special projects;
  • Work with specialized equipment as designated by position;
  • Maintain consistent scheduling availability;
  • Be able to lift 30 pounds 8. Be able to stand on feet for long periods of time;
  • Be able to go to all Tri-C campuses;
  • Some sort of theatre knowledge or background
  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ideal candidates will be in the Creative Arts degree programs or have previous theater experience from high school or community theater.
