Technical theatre directors oversee the operations of all technical equipment and systems during a performance, such as a music concert, theater show, play, or other artistic production. In this role, you manage the schedule and quality of the lights and sounds during the show, making sure they work properly and are turned on at the right time. You also collaborate with the set designers and technical professionals to build the set and scenery, construct props, and make the lighting design from the director or producer's vision drawings. During production, you may also offer advice about the feasibility of design ideas.
