Job description

The Sr. Business Analyst will report to the Sr. Manager in the Digital Product Management department. This role is responsible for identifying business needs, analyzing data, and developing data-driven solutions by collaborating with stakeholders to evaluate current processes, uncover areas for improvement, and design effective solutions to optimize business operations; key duties include gathering requirements, conducting data analysis, creating reports, and presenting recommendations to drive strategic decision-making. This position provides expertise in the preparation, analysis, design, testing and implementation of product features, process designs and improvements using Agile methodologies. A key purpose of this role is to assess and evaluate current state processes and develop solutions aimed at creating more streamlined, automated, and standardized alternatives.

  • Evaluate existing business processes, identify inefficiencies, and propose process optimization strategies to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Lead the analysis of key risk areas in current and proposed Product and operational processes.
  • Design and lead process improvements as part of system implementations, translating them into requirements, epics, features, and stories to support development teams and process owners.
  • Develop detailed functional specifications for new systems or system enhancements based on business needs and requirements analysis.
  • Determine and support team structure changes as it relates to the definition of roles impacted by process changes.
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments by interviewing stakeholders, gathering feedback, and documenting business requirements to understand current pain points and desired outcomes.
  • Utilize data-driven tools and methods to collect, clean, and analyze data identify trends, patterns, and insights relevant to business objectives.
  • Partner with stakeholders, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and Architects to define Operations process requirements related to multiple internal and external systems.
  • Create comprehensive reports and data visualizations to effectively communicate findings and insights to key decision-makers.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, effectively communicating project status, addressing concerns, and aligning expectations.
  • Lead the creation of process flows, process documentation, and training materials to ensure successful rollout of product and/or process improvements.
  • Solicit ideas and feedback from impacted departments and represent these areas in discussions with internal/external implementation teams.
  • Evaluate and test the system throughout the implementation phases.
  • Conduct on-going analysis and monitoring of processes to ensure that desired outcomes are produced
  • Assist with change management efforts including creating strategies to support adoption of required changes, assessing change readiness, identifying key stakeholders, and supporting the design, development, and delivery of communication.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Typical schedule for this position is 8 a.m. CT to 5 p.m. CT. Occasional travel for onsite department meetings and collaboration events.

Education & Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in fintech or health verticals
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Sciences, Communication, or Mathematics, Computer Science or related field.
    • MBA or Master's degree preferred
  • Six Sigma Certification Preferred

Skills & Abilities:

  • Proactive, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret data, identify trends, and draw actionable conclusions; able to propose resolutions and/or remediation to inefficient processes
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of product development processes and Agile methodologies
  • Demonstrated knowledge of innovation, design, reengineering, and digital transformation with proven success delivering complex, large-scale initiatives
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively present complex information to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Possess excellent collaboration and communication skills, with both internal and external teams
  • Proficient in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau), business intelligence platforms, and project management software and expertise in use of diagramming tools such as such as Visio, Lucidchart, Miro, Figma etc.
  • Understanding of key business drivers, financial metrics, and industry trends to inform decision-making.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and foster positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Experience creating user stories, workflows and process maps
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and work streams in a fast-paced environment and self-prioritize, multi-task and complete tasks within specified timelines
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and dependable with an affinity for accuracy, efficiency, and process improvement
