Traffic Systems Technical Solutions Consultant (New England)

Wavetronix is seeking a Traffic Systems Technical Solutions Consultant to install, configure, troubleshoot, and support intelligent transportation technology throughout New England. This full-time role combines hands-on technical fieldwork, customer support, product training, and technical consulting.

Although this position is posted as Traffic Systems Technical Solutions Consultant, this position will be internally classified as Technical Sales Support and will fulfill the duties below.

Travel: Approximately 50% of the time throughout Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. Additional travel may be required based on project needs. A company vehicle is provided. Candidates located in or near Massachusetts are strongly preferred.

Compensation: Expected base salary range of $65,000-$90,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications. This is a non-commission position.

About the Role

Wavetronix is a leader in radar-based technology for the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) industry. Successful Technical Sales Support Specialists are comfortable working with a wide range of customers, including field technicians, traffic engineers, and city planners. Strong communication skills are essential, as this role requires interaction through email, phone, and in-person meetings. The ideal candidate enjoys solving technical challenges, documenting solutions, and sharing knowledge to help customers succeed.

  • Install, configure, demonstrate, and troubleshoot Wavetronix products.
  • Build strong customer relationships and provide technical support in the field and remotely.
  • Deliver technical training and presentations to customers.
  • Conduct site surveys and review project plans to recommend solutions.
  • Diagnose technical issues and implement effective resolutions.
  • Document activities, maintain trip reports, and track projects in CRM.
  • Collaborate across teams and share knowledge throughout the organization.
  • Adapt to changing schedules and travel as needed throughout assigned territories.

3 Month Milestones

  • Able to effectively use mobile tools and applications
  • Have a positive relationship with Wavetronix customers
  • Able to understand and effectively communicate technical procedures and processes to customer
  • Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations to the client
  • Effectively communicate and cooperate with Technical Services and share information across the organization

6 Month Milestones

  • Master installation and configuration of Wavetronix products
  • Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment
  • Demonstrate functional knowledge of Wavetronix noncore product line

12 Month Milestones

  • Ability to install, configure, troubleshoot, and demonstrate all Wavetronix products
  • Learn intersection and controller cabinet basic operation
  • Perform at least 5 solo technical customer visits
