Job Description

Sika is seeking a dynamic Specification Sales Representative to lead specification development and technical advocacy for our Building, Parking, and Expansion Joint Systems business unit. In this highly influential role, you will drive demand through project specifications, technical support, and industry education-ultimately supporting project success and contributing to national sales growth. The ideal candidate can live anywhere in Florida, but must be near a major airport. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve business unit targets through proactive engagement with specifiers, architects, engineers, and contractors via Lunch & Learns, specification creation/reviews, customer training, product demonstrations, and promotions, with a clear focus on winning additional business for Sika.
  • Develop and secure specifications to ensure Sika solutions are approved, specified, and listed prior to project bidding.
  • Collaborate closely with local Sika sales teams across all Target Markets to align specification strategies, share market intelligence, and maximize sales opportunities on major projects and key accounts.
  • Demonstrate leadership and teamwork, fostering strong communication and coordination between the specification and field sales teams.
  • Maintain an active presence and dedicate at least three days per week to in-person engagement and building a robust pipeline of specifications and projects.
  • Deliver compelling presentations and seminars (formal and informal) to diverse audiences, including architects, engineers, contractors, owners, applicators, and design-build firms.
  • Coordinate with the local sales team using Salesforce.com as the primary communication and project tracking tool, ensuring projects are tracked to a high close rate and strategic pursuits are maximized.
  • Organize and lead regular meetings or conference calls to update project and account teams on specification developments and progress.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with specifiers through consistent engagement and scheduled Lunch & Learns, positioning Sika products prominently in project documentation.
Qualifications
  • Proven track record in reviewing, creating, and updating specifications.
  • Field experience with design professionals and contractors is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.
  • High Level of communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Education: College Degree
  • Year Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in waterproofing or building envelope-related products.
  • Travel Requirement: Up to 75% for specification efforts.
