Responsibilities
  • Developing and updating mining plans in cooperation with corporate mining personnel.
  • Providing support to quarry personnel on mining and crushing operations as needed, including implementation of mining plans.
  • On-going review and optimization of mining related key performance efficiency indicators
  • Performing GPS quarry surveys
  • Updating mineral reserves
  • Working closely with plant Quality Manager to ensure quality and consistency of the quarried material
  • Supporting permitting and compliance activities
  • Supporting the quarry personnel with optimizing mobile equipment operations, including completion of time studies
  • Perform training of quarry personnel as needed
  • Completing internal and external quarry operations reports

Qualifications
  • BS degree in Mining Engineering or Geology
  • Two (2) to five (5) years working as a Mining Manager / Engineer. Prior experience with open pit mining required.
  • Self-motivated and results driven.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid computer skills including Surpac Mining Software and MS Office.
  • AutoCAD knowledge is a plus
  • Requires physical dexterity to navigate through and around various job conditions, including climbing, walking on less-than-optimal surfaces, etc.
  • Must be able to tolerate noise, dust, and dirty conditions
