JMT is seeking a highly motivated individual for our Knoxville office who has the desire to lead a mature Highways section in a collaborative and progressive workplace. The selected candidate will be responsible for the Highways practice in the Knoxville office including supervising staff and development and execution of a strategic plan. Also responsible for project management including delivering all project objectives for assigned projects including; scope, schedule and budget. They will have experience with the technical side of the practice and the desire to fully understand and execute the business side of the practice including maintaining client relationships, workload management and financial performance, and staff development and growth to continue our tradition of providing high quality products and services.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate strategic growth plan with office leader, regional manager and practice leaders
  • Establish and grow market presence through marketing and business development activities
  • Manage financial budget for department and allocate resources accordingly
  • Lead and contribute to the production of proposals
  • Serve as a technical expertise resource to project managers and technical staff
  • Establish resources staffing needs for the section
  • Interview and hire staff for the section
  • Perform performance reviews for staff based on input from project managers on assigned teams
