Within the Technical Publications group, our goal is to provide an information experience that allows our users to learn and use our products quickly and easily. Easy-to-follow user documentation, including contextual help, videos, and digital media, is a big part of our user's learning, and we're constantly transforming the way our customers view content by investing in researching content consumer preferences and the latest content delivery and digital media technology trends.
We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Technical Publications Senior Manager to lead our global content strategy and documentation teams. In this role, you will define the future of our product documentation, developer portals, and content translation efforts. You will bridge the gap between complex engineering, product management, and our end-users, ensuring our documentation is a competitive advantage.
The Role
• Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the long-term vision for technical publications, aligning content strategy with product roadmaps and company OKRs.
• Team Management: Recruit, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of technical writers, information architects, and localization specialists.
• Process Optimization: Modernize our content infrastructure. Implement and manage modern CCMS platforms, AI-driven search, and automated publishing pipelines to increase efficiency.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Engineering, Product Management, UX, and Customer Success to ensure documentation is integrated seamlessly into the user journey.
• Quality & Metrics: Establish industry-standard KPIs (e.g., CSAT scores, time-to-first-value, deflection metrics) to measure content effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
What You'll Bring
• Experience: 15+ years of experience in technical writing, with at least 6+ years managing global technical writing teams in the unstructured data storage (S3 and NAS/File), SaaS, or hardware industry.
• Technical Acumen: Ability to understand complex technical architectures, APIs, and developer tools. Familiarity with modern authoring tools (e.g., SDL Tridion, Git, Markdown-based workflows).
• Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to distill complex technical concepts into clear, actionable, and user-centric content.
• Data-Driven Mindset: Experience using analytics and customer feedback to iterate on content and prove ROI.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, or a related field.
