At Northview, we are a passionate, community-focused team dedicated to making our properties the best they can be. Headquartered in Calgary, AB, we currently operate in nine provinces and two territories, managing over 14,600 multi-residential units, 1.25 million sq. feet of commercial space, and 200 executive suites. We are looking for a Project Manger, Capex to join our Corporate-Facilities team in Calgary, AB. Reporting to the Director, Capex & Facilities , you will be an important part of our team, assisting in the effective operations of our property management offices, while providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Traveling to portfolios across Canada managing capital projects multi-family units, common areas, interior and exterior work including structural and technical including HVAC & electrical
  • Proactively manage communication and information exchange with internal/external stakeholders
  • Develop and support multiple projects coordinating with key players managing scope of work, contractors or internal staff, all aspects of related paperwork including (but not limited to) permits, drawings, and technical briefs
  • Develop and manage supplier relationships
  • Manage RFPs, spec & tender process through project execution
  • Work collaboratively with Regional Managers, maintaining effective lines of communication
  • Oversee all high-risk projects including (but not limited to) building exterior work (balconies, roofs, and siding, parking garages, building envelope, foundations) and technical projects (boiler replacements, electrical upgrades, fire life safety systems)
  • Prepare, coordinate, and execute projects working within the operating guidelines and budget
  • Coordinating and overseeing internal and external project contributors, maximizing the potential of the workforce and material resources
  • Responsible for the overall safety of all project personnel
  • Maintain files and correspondence on active and completed projects
  • Proactive regular communication with all stakeholders
  • Manage monthly and quarterly budget reporting and variance analysis
  • Responsible for CSOX audit trail of documentation
  • Minor plumbing repairs and renovations, replacing toilet and taps, under cabinet pipes etc.
  • Replacing switches, light fixtures, and sockets
  • Patching drywall, painting walls and trim
  • Carpentry work including cutting and installing baseboards, hanging doors, minor kitchen cabinet repairs, installing shelving and cabinets
  • Removing debris, loading, and unloading material, removing cabinets, and maintaining a trash free environment
  • Other duties relating to upkeep and renovation of buildings as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in engineering, construction management, or related fields
  • Minimum 3 years experience in project management, property management or construction preferred
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills Microsoft Office
  • Proven negotiation, construction and/or facilities management experience
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
