The Simulator Development & Integration team is leading the way in developing advanced simulation training tools used to train Sailors for the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program (NNPP). This business area continues to expand as the demand for high fidelity, reliable, and cost-effective training solutions grows. There is an opportunity for a highly qualified and motivated project manager as part of the Next Generation Training Program, including its suite of simulators, that will be developed and delivered over the next two decades. The team needs a versatile project manager who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment in both individual and team roles.
The role requires close interaction and coordination with other project managers, engineers, and management across multiple sites and organizations, including close collaboration with stakeholders at NNL, BPMI, Naval Reactors, and subtier suppliers, to ensure successful completion of project objectives. Program or project management experience within a technical business - Experience managing complex technical projects - Strong leadership, interpersonal, and team building skills - Experience with new project startup, technical writing, cost estimating, and subtier supplier oversight -Experience working with engineers to define project scope and schedules - Experience defining, implementing, and managing project infrastructure (integrated plans, resource management, schedule management, risk management, change control, and status reporting) -Ability to team and solve complex problems across organizations -Ability to work independently and complete assignments for all aspects of work with minimal direction from management - Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate with management and interfacing organizations- Experience with Primavera P6- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products- Project Management Profession Certification
Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university - Minimum 6 years of relevant experience - Periodic travel to other NNPP and subtier supplier sites
