Your Opportunity + Impact
The Senior Technical Manager provides strategic and technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams, ensuring the successful delivery of complex projects within their professional service area. This role oversees all technical aspects of project execution, including design integrity, quality assurance, personnel management, scope, budgeting, and financial performance. The Senior Technical Manager directs and supports technical teams assigned to multiple projects, working closely with Project Managers and other stakeholders to ensure technical objectives are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversees and verifies the accuracy and quality of technical work, ensuring compliance with project requirements, standards, and best practices.
  • Develops, monitors, and maintains project budgets and schedules, identifying potential risks and implementing corrective measures as needed.
  • Ensures the technical, quality, and financial performance of the technical team meets organizational and client expectations.
  • Serves as a primary point of contact for resolving technical, engineering, and project-related issues, providing guidance and solutions to teams.
  • Acts as the Designer of Record when required, ensuring design accountability and technical integrity.
  • Collaborates and communicates effectively with managers, clients, contractors, and cross-functional teams to support project success.
  • Conducts quality assurance reviews and testing to confirm compliance with design specifications and performance standards.
  • Prepares and oversees workload forecasts, staffing plans, and resource allocation to meet project and departmental goals.
  • Develops and manages budgets and schedules for complex technical projects, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to timelines.
  • Delivers technical presentations and reports internally and externally to communicate progress, findings, and recommendations.
  • Ensures all work complies with applicable environmental, survey, and permitting regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Reviews and approves contract documents and agreements related to the technical discipline for accuracy and completeness.
  • Supervises and mentors technical staff, conducting performance evaluations, approving timesheets, and ensuring adherence to company standards and expectations.
  • Contributes to the development and execution of annual business goals and multi-year strategic plans to promote operational excellence, innovation, and sustainable growth.

Education and Experience
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree, preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of twenty (20) years' job related experience.
  • Licensure/Certification: Registered Architect (RA), Professional Engineer (PE), Structural Engineer (SE), Professional Landscape Architect (PLA), Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or other relevant license within the discipline required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrates a strong desire to expand knowledge and take on new responsibilities within the field.
  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Sketch-Up, Photoshop, and other related software programs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet project deadlines effectively.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a project team.
  • Ability to interact with clients, project team, vendors, and other external groups in a professional manner.
