Job description

#jobalert | DIRECT HIRE | EQUIPMENT & QUOTING SPECIALIST | Kansas City metro area

A long-established industrial equipment manufacturer in the Kansas City metro area is hiring an Equipment & Quoting Specialist. The role sits at the intersection of technical equipment knowledge and customer-facing quoting for processing equipment, replacement parts, and custom-engineered systems. You will own incoming quote requests end to end — interpreting what the customer needs, pulling vendor and internal pricing, coordinating with engineering on drawings, and turning it into a clean, accurate proposal. This is the right seat for someone with an equipment or engineering aptitude who wants to grow into deep product and application expertise.

  • Anticipated $80K–$85K, based on experience
  • Annual bonus eligibility (CIP)
  • Full suite of benefits: Health/Dental/Vision, PTO
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00–5:00, in-office

OVERVIEW

  • Turn incoming customer requests into accurate, competitive quotes for processing equipment, components, and replacement parts
  • Interpret specifications, drawings, and part requests to determine the right equipment, parts, and configurations
  • Source vendor pricing and lead times for fabricated and bought-out components; build complete system quotes
  • Coordinate with engineering to develop or interpret drawings that allow vendors to quote accurately
  • Serve as the first point of contact for quote questions, part identification, and basic technical support
  • Maintain quote records and keep CRM/ERP entries current
  • Improve quoting templates, tools, and workflow over time

PREFERRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related technical field — or equivalent hands-on equipment experience (strongly preferred)
  • Equipment aptitude — ability to understand how mechanical systems, parts, and assemblies fit together (strongly preferred)
  • Exposure to chemical compatibility, materials of construction, pumps, motors, seals, and wetted components
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications
  • Experience with technical quoting, industrial equipment sales, or inside sales support
  • Proficiency with CRM/ERP systems and Microsoft Office
  • Clear written and verbal communication with customers and vendors
