Trane Technologiesis currently seeking aUnit Controls Airside Product Technical Lead serves as the subject matter expert on Trane Airside control products. Is responsible for guiding the efforts of a cross-functional product development team to deliver high quality new or enhanced HVAC control products. This role is responsible for ensuring technical and business objectives are met through our product development process.

Performing complex activities relating to the design, test, configuration, evaluation of new and/or existing Airside Control products. Confers withmanagement, production, and marketing staff to determine feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products.

What you will do:

  • Serve as the Controls technical engineering core team member on cross functional projects.

  • Work with product management and business leaders to create project scope and objectives as well as risk assessment, which have a major impact on project cost, schedule, investment and technology.

  • Direct involvement in project and product definition activities relating to marketing and/or technical requirements.

  • Coordination of deliverables: specifications, application development, verification/validation, production configuration and documentation.

  • Follows established new product development procedures and guidelines to leverage shared organizational knowledge and experience.

  • Responsible for scheduling and coordinating assignments of project team members.

  • Utilize effective communication and facilitation skills both, inside and outside of the development team.

  • Document project activities, issues, concerns and status to keep management informed and enable timely resolution of project problems.

  • Coordination with Quality, Technical Support and Product Engineering teams

  • Develop innovative approaches to solving team, technical or schedule problems.

  • Support on-site Dynamic Controls testing in La Crosse WI lab as needed.

  • Ability to meet short- and long-term deadlines.

  • Effectively meet needs of internal and external customers.

  • Ability to work regularly and dependably.

  • Ability to function in a global team environment.

What you will bring:

  • BS or MS degree in Engineering discipline, or in lieu of a degree 10+ years of relevant experiencewith HVAC equipment and controls, including application, integration, and support.

  • Experience leading or contributing to engineering product development projects.

  • Knowledge of HVAC Systems and Components, with focus on Airside products.

  • Working knowledge of control systems, instrumentation, HMI, communication networks, and distributed networked systems.

  • Knowledge of BAS communication protocols and architectures and topologies associated with them.

  • Experience with requirements management and defect tracking tools a plus.

  • Experience with Trane Graphical Programming (TGP2) a plus.

  • Knowledge of DFSS techniques a plus.

  • Reliable planner with good attention to detail.

  • Strong leadership along with good verbal English, written English and interpersonal communication skills.
