Job description

Position Summary: The Technical Engineering Quality Manager is responsible for leading a highly trained team of engineers and driving continuous improvements in processes and production as well as managing all aspects of the Plant Quality System.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of engineers as well as lab personnel to drive sustained improvements in safety, attainment, yield, quality, and cost through daily production support, non-capital process optimizations and improvements and process engineering for capital upgrades.
  • Manage OSHA-PSM elements including management of change, pre-startup safety review, standard operating procedures, incident investigation, and process hazards analysis
  • Manage production optimization and process troubleshooting
  • Process design of capital improvements
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers
  • Lead ISO registration activities and guide compliance to ISO standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement across the site.
  • Responsible for supplier contacts for vendor certifications and customer contacts for complaint investigations. 
  • Serve as lead contact and coordinator for customer satisfaction issues.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering
  • Six Sigma and/or Lean certification preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in production, process and/or manufacturing engineering within the chemical, petroleum, or polymer industrial manufacturing environments
  • 2-3 years of experience in engineering or manufacturing leadership strongly preferred

Additional Qualifications:

  • Proven history of delivering productivity through non-capital improvements and capital projects of all sizes
  • Deep experience in the fundamentals of production optimization and process design.
  • Strong process and mechanical troubleshooting experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills enterprise
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels of an organization.
  • Strong computer skills, including process monitoring and process simulation and design.

The base salary range for this role is $108,000 to $162,000 annually.
