Tetra Tech is adding a Civil Engineering Technologist to our Materials and Construction Services team based in Edmonton, AB.
This is a temporary hourly contract position expected to continue through November or December, depending on weather conditions.

Your Role:
- Working on transportation infrastructure, commercial and industrial projects in both a field and laboratory environment.
- Performing field testing of soil, aggregates, and concrete including, plastic concrete testing and making samples for testing in the laboratory, and density testing using nuclear density gauges.
- Assisting in providing quality control and quality assurance on a variety of laboratory and field-testing related projects.
- Assisting in preparation of field-testing reports.
- Other duties required to conduct our business and build on the job knowledge.
- Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
- Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
- Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
- Additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Civil engineering technology diploma is preferred.
- Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver's License and must provide current drivers abstract when applying.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to properly document sampling and testing information in an accurate and timely fashion.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and listening skills.
- Good time management skills, the ability to work with minimal supervision and the ability to contribute to the Practice by being a team player.
- Must be willing to travel and work in a field setting away from headquarters.
- CSA approved Steel Toed Safety Boots required.
- Be physically capable of performing the manual labour duties required.
