The Route Sales position sells products for manufacturer or distributor to business and industrial establishments or individuals. This position is classified as an โ€œoutside salesโ€ position; the positionโ€™s primary duty is to obtain orders/contracts for products or services; employees are customarily and regularly engaged away from GCSโ€™ place of business.

  • Develop and implement a plan in conjunction with the Branch Manager to call on all customers existing and new in a defined geographic territory.
  • Generate effective route schedule.
  • Drive the determined route and perform delivery and pickup service.
  • Work closely with Technical Sales Representative to support customer needs.

Requirements:

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to three yearsโ€™ experience in outside sales with industrial engine accessory equipment. Electrical or mechanical background a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Moderate computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel. Familiar with web navigation, experience working with databases.
