Position summary Under the direction of the firm's attorneys, the Paralegal provides legal and administrative support, primarily for commercial litigation matters. Responsibilities include assisting with case and portfolio management, discovery, document management, anticipating and calendaring deadlines, and the preparation of litigation materials. The role also includes evaluating and using AI tools to improve litigation workflows and efficiency. The ideal candidate exercises sound judgment, keeps strict confidentiality, and builds strong working relationships with attorneys, clients, vendors, and colleagues. Responsibilities may evolve as firm and client needs change. We are seeking a Litigation Paralegal with at least seven years of experience to join our collaborative, high-performing legal team. In this role, you will support attorneys handling commercial litigation matters by helping with case and portfolio management, discovery, document management, anticipating and calendaring deadlines and the preparation of court filings and other litigation materials. We're looking for a proactive problem-solver who enjoys creating order in complex matters, improving processes, and helping the litigation team deliver outstanding client service. Job duties and responsibilities Support attorneys in managing commercial litigation matters and litigation portfolios through all phases of the case lifecycle. Assist with day-to-day case management by organizing case files, tracking deadlines, maintaining case data, and preparing litigation materials. Organize and maintain pleadings, discovery materials, correspondence, exhibits, and other case-related documents and electronic files. Support all phases of discovery, including document collection, review, organization, production, and tracking. Prepare and format routine legal documents, including pleadings, discovery responses, correspondence, and other litigation materials under attorney supervision. Assist with deposition, hearing, and trial preparation by organizing exhibits, compiling case materials, and coordinating logistical and administrative support. Maintain litigation databases and document management systems, including Relativity or similar platforms. Assist with electronic filings in Delaware state and federal courts, including the Delaware Court of Chancery, while checking court rules, filing requirements, and deadlines. Conduct factchecking and citation review to support the accuracy and quality of legal documents. Use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to prepare legal documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and other case materials. Leverage litigation technology and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency and support legal workflows. Collaborate effectively with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff while managing multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and adapting to new processes and technologies. Manage commercial litigation matters and high-volume case portfolios from inception through resolution, maintaining organization, accuracy, and adherence to deadlines. Obtain, review, summarize, index, and manage case documents, discovery materials, and other information necessary to support all phases of litigation. Prepare and serve subpoenas and coordinate written discovery, document productions, interrogatories, depositions, exhibits, witness materials, and related logistics. Draft and prepare routine litigation documents, including pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, and other filings under attorney supervision. Manage court filings and deadlines in Delaware state and federal courts, including the Delaware Court of Chancery, using ECF, PACER, and other applicable e-filing systems. Support deposition, hearing, and trial preparation by organizing exhibits, preparing trial notebooks and other materials, coordinating logistics, and attending proceedings as needed. Maintain litigation databases and document management systems, including Relativity or similar platforms, and demonstrate the ability and willingness to quickly learn and effectively apply new technologies, including AI tools, to improve efficiency and support litigation needs. Conduct legal fact-checking, cite-checking, proofreading, and Bluebook citation review to produce clear, accurate, well-organized, and high-quality work. Apply a strong working knowledge of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, Delaware state court rules, and applicable local court rules and practices. Use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint proficiently to prepare polished legal documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and other work product. Work independently, take ownership of assigned responsibilities, and adapt effectively to changing priorities while collaborating with attorneys, clients, and colleagues to meet competing demands and deliver high-quality work. Additional information Supervisory responsibilities: None. Equipment used: Personal computer and other office equipment such as telephone, calculator, copier, scanner, etc. Essential job functions Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and perform tasks requiring prolonged and/or extensive computer use. Ability to use computers, telecommunications, and digital collaboration tools to perform core job responsibilities. Ability to communicate effectively. Travel for meetings and training as required. Ability to work extended hours as required to meet project, client, or business needs. Working conditions You will be required to work in the office at minimum 4 days per week. Occasionally called upon to work hours in excess of your normal daily schedule. The details of your weekly schedule will be discussed further with your direct supervisor. Pay ranges This is a non-exempt position. The hourly wage range for this role is $40.12 to $51.50 per hour, with an estimated annual compensation range of $83,430 to $106,481, based on a 40-hour workweek. This represents the presently anticipated pay range for this position. Actual pay may vary based on various factors, including but not limited to location and experience.
