Willard Public Schools is currently searching for quality guest teachers to join our team. If you are a friendly and competent professional with an interest in education, this is the perfect position for you!

  • Substitutes have a greater chance of being hired if they wish to work full time

Responsibilities:
  • Follows existing lesson plans to provide instruction to assigned students.
  • Responsible for establishing positive learning expectations for all pupils.
  • Establishes and maintains reasonable rules of conduct within the classroom and on school grounds, including, but not limited to, playgrounds, corridors, and lunchrooms.
  • Maintains accurate attendance records.
  • Encourages student growth in self-discipline and positive self-concept; ensures fairness in teacher-pupil relationships and exhibits an understanding and respect for students.
  • Utilizes appropriate resources available in the school.

Minimum Qualifications:
Substitute teacher candidates are required to provide proof of either a Missouri Professional Educator Certificate or a Missouri Substitute Teaching Certificate issued by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Daily sub rates effective January 1, 2026:
Teacher-$130
*Long-Term Teacher-$150
Retired Teacher-$140
*Long-Term Retired Teacher-$160
Paraprofessional-$115
*Long-Term Paraprofessional-$120
**Long-Term Pay Requirement**
Districts only authorize Long-Term Pay when working on the same assignment, for the same teacher, after 10 consedcutive days (unless specfied otherwise above).
