Dear Applicant:
Thank you for your interest in substitute teaching in the Catholic schools of the Diocese of Columbus. The Diocese operates 50 schools. While the majority of these schools are located in the Columbus metropolitan area, many are located in smaller towns and rural communities. All exist primarily to teach children to live as Christians and to be happy, productive citizens.
All applicants for substitute teacher positions in the schools of the Diocese of Columbus must complete the following in order to be added to the Diocese of Columbus Substitute Teacher list.
1- Substitute Teacher Application
2- Have a Current Substitute Teaching License, Professional Teaching License, or Non-Tax Certificate
3- Current satisfactory BCI & FBI background checks
4- Have attended or be willing to attend a VIRTUS Protecting God's Children training
5- Sign the substitute teacher job description and employment agreement below and email to Carrie Ramsay at cramsay@columbuscatholic.org

Licensure
Anyone Substitute Teaching for the Diocese of Columbus will need to obtain either a Standard Substitute Teaching License or a Temporary Non-Bachelor's Degree Substitute Teaching License - if not already holding a teaching credential or non-tax certificate. The Diocese will maintain your on-line substitute teaching application for two school years. Approved substitutes will receive an e-mail mid-July/early August of every school year asking if they wish to remain on the substitute teacher list for the new school year.
