This contract position focuses on teaching in an Emotional Behavior Disorder (EBD) center-based classroom, where your expertise will help create a nurturing and positive environment for student growth.
Responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering specialized instruction aligned with IEPs for students with emotional and behavioral needs.
- Implementing research-based strategies to promote academic, emotional, and social growth.
- Collaborating with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff to integrate and support students across learning environments.
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting instructional plans as needed.
- Communicating regularly with families regarding student achievements, concerns, and individualized support plans.
- Maintaining thorough documentation and compliance with the latest state and district regulations.
Qualifications:
- Current Minnesota Tier 3 or Tier 4 Special Education teaching certification (must be attached to resume for consideration).
- Demonstrated experience working with emotional and behavioral disorders in a school setting.
- Strong skills in classroom management, de-escalation, and restorative practices.
- Ability to foster positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
- Passion for leveraging STEAM-based curriculum elements within teaching.
