Job description

Ginger Bread House is a nurturing, play-based environment that provides a safe and caring environment for all staff and families.

Ginger Bread Preschool and Childcare has full-time and part-time openings for Assistant Teachers to join our dedicated team at all of our locations: Sun Prairie, Stoughton, McFarland, Windsor, Deforest, and Madison!

FREE CHILDCARE FOR EMPLOYEES!

Pay: $11.00 - $19.00 per hour

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday multiple shifts available

  • Our locations are open Monday through Friday: 7:00am to 5:30pm.
  • Full-Time: 8:30am to 5:30pm (40 hours per week)
  • Part -Time: We are flexible at Ginger Bread Preschool and Childcare and willing to work with you on creating your own part-time work schedule that best fits your availability.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Must have completed a minimum of 1 course for credit or non-credit in early childhood education, or completed the Assistant Teacher training within 6 months after assuming this position.
  • Must be at least 17 years of age.

Responsibilities for an Assistant Teacher:

  • Assist the teacher in care and education of children, classroom, and supplies.
  • Take sole responsibility for the group for short periods of time as required.
  • Follow program of center as designed by the curriculum teacher.
  • Assist teacher in evaluation of children if need arises.
  • Assist teacher in parent conferences if need arises.
  • Assist in keeping center neat, attractive, and safe (inside and out.)
  • Able to work indoors or outdoors and engage in physical activity with children
