What are TCDs?

TCD stands for Transcranial Doppler, a non-invasive ultrasound technique used by healthcare professionals to measure blood flow velocity in the brain's major arteries. TCDs are important tools in neurology and are commonly used to assess patients for conditions such as stroke risk, vasospasm after subarachnoid hemorrhage, and other cerebrovascular disorders. The procedure is safe, painless, and provides real-time information about cerebral blood flow dynamics. Professionals who perform TCDs typically require specialized training and work closely with neurologists or other physicians in hospital or clinic settings.
