Job description

Objective
To profitably increase the sales of Cone Distributing products by improving the presence and visibility of all core brands and secondary brands by executing pre-set point of sale and merchandising standards. To assist in the proper sales and delivery of all products sold by Team Cone and assist in the correct marketing of those products at the retail level:
To learn and maintain Cone Distributing Retail Call and Merchandising Standards
To adhere to quality assurance policies.
Responsibilities/Expectations
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Must be able to arrive at work between the hours of 5 to 6:45 AM depending on the route schedule and work until the entire route is serviced.
  • Participate in weekend pull-up activities as scheduled; find a replacement if you cannot attend your assigned day
  • Ability to lift 25- 30 lb. packaged beer and 160 lb. kegs
  • Knowledge of the brewing industry
  • Strategic planning skills
  • Good organizational skills.
  • SKU management skills at the retail store level.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Must be able to develop effective working relationships with all internal and external customers
  • Interface with key high impact accounts. (Chain & Independent) Develop working relationships with key customers.
  • Must be able to interact and negotiate with all levels within Cone Distributing, retail establishments and our suppliers.
  • Must have the aptitude to work within and foster a team environment
  • Work alongside and communicate daily with delivery sales counterpart.
  • Properly stock coolers, back stock, shelves & refill displays to capacity as needed
  • Build and maintain product displays as directed. Restock all warm & cold beer selling areas. Merchandise with corr-buff, signs & appropriate point of sale if account allows it. Maintain account back stock in orderly condition.
  • The ability to learn and work in route accounting software.
  • Must have the capability of accurately counting and entering in store inventories and the aptitude to interpret inventory numbers to produce an accurate sales forecast.
  • Must be able to understand and sell the entire portfolio
  • Must be able to sell in cooler door sets to independent c- stores, package, or grocery stores.
  • Must possess the ability to read store Plano-grams. Must also be able to maintain set integrity.
  • Must be able to become Beer Server certified within a preset time period to be determined by Area Sales Manager in conjunction with the Craft Brand Manager.
  • Must possess the ability and maintain Cone Distributing Retail Call and merchandising standards
  • Sales and marketing program implementation
  • Maintain proper rotation standards on an ongoing basis.
  • Quality Assurance Policy is understood and adhered to
  • Code date systems must be thoroughly understood and strictly followed
  • Working knowledge of Red Bull or DPSG selling standards to ensure execution against volume, distribution, and merchandising standards (if applicable)
  • Follow up and correct all QA audits within the time prescribed, or as designated by the assigned ASM. All documentation to be turned in to ASM.
  • Attend all cross -training events as scheduled.
  • Work with Cone Distributing supplier reps as scheduled
  • Maintain appropriate dress (uniform) and personal appearance standards (dress policy).
  • Maintain assigned equipment (breakdowns, hand trucks, phone, iPad, etc.) and vehicle. Report vehicle issues to the mechanic on duty immediately.
  • Maintain a safe driving record. Report any driving related issues to HR immediately.
  • Assist with other tasks as appropriate and/or necessary, such as hot shots, deliveries, the hanging of POS, etc.
  • Complete and accurately fill out all assigned surveys and transmit thru Encompass. Ad surveys due by close of business on Friday or as directed.
  • Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations regarding the sale and merchandising of malt beverages
  • Attend all monthly sales meetings as scheduled
  • Follow safety rules and use safety equipment daily.
  • Good math skills.
  • The ability to use Smart Phones, iPads, or other similar electronic devices in the performance of job duties.
  • Effective communication skills for both internal and external communication. Must be able to communicate with store personnel as well as Team Cone delivery and sales personnel and members of Team Cone management.
