Job description

Lead Quality. Drive Innovation. Enjoy Your Weekends.

Are you an experienced Quality Engineering leader who enjoys solving complex manufacturing challenges and driving continuous improvement? Talis Group is partnering with a respected manufacturer to hire a Quality Engineering Manager for a highly visible, hands-on leadership role. This company is known for its exceptional culture, collaborative leadership team, and outstanding work-life balance with a 4-day production schedule and no weekend work.

This role is ideal for a proactive engineering professional who enjoys partnering with Operations and Engineering to improve product quality, manufacturing performance, and customer satisfaction. Your success will be measured by improving product reliability, increasing first-pass yield, reducing warranty claims, scrap and rework, and eliminating root causes through data-driven problem solving.

Why You'll Love This Opportunity:
  • 4-day production schedule with no weekend work.
  • Outstanding, people-first company culture.
  • High-impact leadership role with cross-functional visibility.
  • Opportunity to influence product design, manufacturing processes, and quality strategy.
  • Hands-on leadership with the ability to make meaningful improvements.
  • Excellent benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, FSA, Life & Disability Insurance, 401(k), Wellness Programs, and Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

Highlighted Duties:
  • Lead and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS), promoting a culture where quality is built into every product and process.
  • Partner with Engineering and Manufacturing leadership to improve product reliability, manufacturability, process capability, and operational performance.
  • Participate in product development, design reviews, risk assessments, validation testing, and New Product Introduction (NPI) to ensure quality is engineered into new products from concept through production.
  • Lead root cause investigations involving warranty claims, customer complaints, supplier quality, manufacturing defects, and field performance using structured problem-solving tools including 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, FMEA, A3, and CAPA.
  • Analyze manufacturing, supplier, warranty, and customer quality data to identify trends, develop KPIs, and drive improvements that reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), scrap, rework, and warranty expense.
  • Improve manufacturing quality through stronger process controls, inspection strategies, testing methods, error-proofing, and Lean initiatives that increase First Pass Yield (FPY) and reduce variation.
  • Partner with suppliers and customers to resolve quality issues, improve supplier performance, and support field investigations when needed.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Quality Engineers, Inspectors, and Technicians while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Highlighted Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Five or more years of Quality Engineering or Quality Management experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), product reliability, process improvement, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience leading root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives using tools such as 8D, CAPA, FMEA, 5 Why, SPC, Lean, or Six Sigma.
  • Proven ability to analyze quality data, develop KPIs, and drive measurable operational improvements.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing processes; food service equipment or similar manufacturing experience is a plus.

About Our Client:
Our client believes great companies are built by investing in their people. While business success matters, they are equally committed to creating a workplace where employees are respected, supported, and empowered to grow. They value new ideas, and foster a collaborative environment where quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement are part of the culture. If you're ready to join a company where your leadership will have a visible impact—and where your weekends remain your own—we'd love to hear from you.
