Talent Partnerships information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in Talent Partnerships, and why are they important?

To excel in Talent Partnerships, you need a solid background in relationship management, contract negotiation, and an understanding of branding and influencer marketing, often supported by a degree in marketing, communications, or a related field. Familiarity with CRM systems, influencer marketing platforms, and data analytics tools is typically required. Exceptional interpersonal skills, creativity, and strategic thinking help professionals build strong, mutually beneficial partnerships. These abilities are crucial for driving successful collaborations, maximizing value for both talent and organizations, and ensuring long-term partnership growth.

What are Talent Partnerships?

Talent Partnerships refer to roles or functions within companies, agencies, or organizations that focus on building and managing relationships with creative talent, such as artists, influencers, actors, or athletes. Professionals in Talent Partnerships work to identify, recruit, and collaborate with talent to achieve business objectives, such as brand campaigns, content creation, or event appearances. They act as liaisons between the talent and the organization, ensuring mutually beneficial partnerships. This role often requires strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.

What is the difference between Talent Partnerships vs Talent Acquisition?

AspectTalent PartnershipsTalent Acquisition
Primary FocusBuilding long-term relationships with talent pools and partnersSourcing and hiring candidates for specific roles
Work EnvironmentStrategic, collaborative, often involves external partnersOperational, candidate-focused, often in HR or recruiting teams
Required CredentialsHR or recruiting experience, relationship management skillsHR, recruiting certifications, or related experience

While Talent Partnerships focus on developing ongoing relationships and strategic talent pipelines, Talent Acquisition is centered on filling immediate job openings through sourcing and hiring. Both roles are essential in talent management but serve different stages of the hiring process.

How does the Talent Partnerships role typically collaborate with internal teams and external partners?

Professionals in Talent Partnerships frequently act as liaisons between internal departments—such as marketing, content, and legal—and external partners like influencers, talent agencies, and brand representatives. A typical week involves coordinating campaign deliverables, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that both the company’s and the talent’s goals are aligned. Success in the role relies on strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple relationships simultaneously. This collaborative environment fosters cross-functional teamwork and provides exposure to various aspects of the business, which can open doors for career growth in brand partnerships, business development, or talent management.

Job description

Talent Partner - New York Chapter 2 | Embedded with a Leading Fintech / Payments Company | New York (Hybrid, 2-3 days in office)
About Chapter 2
Chapter 2 is one of the fastest-growing embedded talent businesses in the world. We've scaled to 160+ people globally in under four years, partnering with high-growth startups and scale-ups across Europe and the US. We don't do contingency. We don't post CVs. We embed directly into the world's most ambitious companies - acting as their talent function, building their hiring infrastructure, and delivering results at agency speed with the standards of an internal team.
We are relentless in our pursuit of excellence, embedding world-class talent, pioneering technology, and compelling employer branding into organisations across industries. Our approach isn't just about recruitment - it's about building long-term success for our clients.
We are loyal to our clients, to our vision, and most importantly, to each other - because we know that true success is built together.
About the opportunity
Chapter 2 is a specialist talent acquisition consultancy that partners with high-growth businesses to build exceptional teams. We embed our recruiters directly within our clients' organisations, meaning you'll work as a true extension of an in-house TA function - with the variety and learning that comes from being part of an innovative consultancy behind you.
We're looking for an experienced Talent Partner to join one of our embedded teams in New York, supporting a fast-scaling fintech and payments company that is making a real impact on how people send and manage money globally. This is a full end-to-end role - you'll own the hiring process from briefing through to offer, partnering closely with hiring managers and senior stakeholders to deliver an exceptional candidate experience.
The role
As an embedded Talent Partner, you'll take full ownership of a requisition load across technical, commercial, and operational functions - acting as a trusted advisor to the business while delivering at pace.
  • Own end-to-end recruitment across a portfolio of roles, from intake through to offer and close
  • Build strong relationships with hiring managers, acting as a genuine talent partner rather than a transactional recruiter
  • Develop and execute targeted sourcing strategies using LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, and market mapping
  • Craft compelling outreach and manage candidate experience throughout the full hiring journey
  • Screen, assess, and present shortlists with clear, insight-led commentary
  • Track pipeline metrics and provide the business with regular reporting on role progress and market insights
  • Contribute to TA process improvements and share best practice across the wider team

About you
  • 4-5 years of in-house recruitment experience, ideally within a high-growth or scaling environment
  • Proven track record of managing end-to-end hiring independently, with minimal supervision
  • Experience within fintech, payments, financial services, or a similarly fast-paced sector is a strong advantage
  • Confident stakeholder manager - comfortable advising, pushing back, and building credibility quickly
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a candidate experience mindset
  • Organised, proactive, and comfortable working in an embedded or client-facing environment
  • Curious about talent markets and commercially aware

Benefits and Rewards designed around you:
  • Competitive salary depending on experience
  • Flexible work arrangements, including hybrid working (2-3 days in the New York office)
  • Pension / retirement contributions to support your long-term financial planning
  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits
  • Birthday leave - spend it doing whatever makes you happiest
  • Town Hall Recognition Awards celebrating those who go above and beyond

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Chapter 2 At Chapter 2, we are committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and welcoming workplace where everyone belongs. Regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, age, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, or neurodiversity, we celebrate the unique perspectives that make us stronger. We encourage applications from all backgrounds and are happy to accommodate any recruitment or interview adjustments needed to create a smooth and comfortable experience.
