The Practice Director is a pivotal member of our leadership team, responsible for providing strategic direction, driving profitable growth, ensuring delivery excellence, and cultivating an environment where consultants thrive. This role combines the responsibilities of both the Practice Director and Solutions Director, focusing on optimizing profitability, building great teams, and ensuring client and consultant success. The Practice Director reports directly to a Managing Director and takes guidance on account growth and delivery activities from a General Manager for the primary

 
Responsibilities:

Account and Practice Growth

  • Support and contribute to account growth strategies by identifying target clients, business needs, and opportunities that align with Unify's capabilities.
  • Develop solution sales strategies and targets with account General Managers and drive activity to achieve those targets.
  • Participate directly in client conversations, proposal content, and sales collateral to help sell consulting services.
  • Develop and curate solutions offering content that helps advance solution sales growth companywide.

Practice Strategy

  • Build and apply knowledge of the market and trends impacting our clients' businesses to provide value and grow Unify's business.
  • Develop strategies for supplying talent for consulting opportunities and delivery with input from Solution Managing Directors.
  • Define and up-level the practice's capabilities, innovating and elevating the firm's consulting and solution delivery capabilities. Build and implement a consultant talent development roadmap and foster a high-performing and diverse practice leadership team.

Consultant Success

  • Lead a Community of Practice that encourages consultant engagement and development through learning, skill enhancement, and collaborative activities.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to Practice Managers on Community of Practice-building and consultant engagement activities.
  • Define and implement strategies to improve consultant performance, engagement, career development, success, and retention.
  • Coach and mentor consultants in expertise related to the Practice's capabilitie and consulting excellence.

Practice Operations

  • Proactively communicate the practice's consultant's availability for projects through supply/demand alignment.
  • Support consultant to engagement matchmaking activities to ensure profitable talent alignment occurs across the practice.
  • Support practice-wide engagement renewals, extensions, and expansion efforts.
  • Set Talent Acquisition priorities and inspire recruits to join the practice.

Community of Practice

  • Lead and grow a community of practice that engages consultants with Unify and enhances consultant skillsets in practice capabilities.
  • Assess consultant development needs and create and implement a roadmap of training requirements and continuous learning.
  • Foster a culture of diversity, inclusion, curiosity, quality, and radical accountability.
  • Support cultivating practice stories, case studies, credentials, and communications as collateral for use with clients.

Engagement Leadership & Delivery Excellence

  • Apply subject matter expertise as a client advisor and consulting leader for engagements across our core capabilities.
  • Lead from the front through excellent delivery as a billable leader (100% utilized) with a combination of both delivery and delivery lead responsibilities.
  • Engage in account meetings and strategy sessions to share intel among leaders and consultants for account growth and expansion.
  • As you explore and create new solution opportunities, look for every opportunity to level up our current strategic individual consulting work and create value added solutions out of the work we are doing today.
  • Lead the end-to-end sale and delivery of a portfolio of consulting engagements, including project approach, scope, schedule, risk and issue mitigation, and status communication, utilizing Unify' s Project Delivery Framework as needed.
  • Ensure each team member contributes to the team's success by creating high quality deliverables and meeting established milestones. Provide quality assurance of deliverables and coaching/mentoring, as needed. Create a positive team enviornment where each member is heard, respected and valued.

  • Share delivery feedback with consultants and their Account Leadership to help ensure seamless transitions as consultants onboard or offboard from the team.

  • Contribute to delivery best practices, templates, customer reference stories and internal knowledge sharing, training, and education.

  • Apply subject matter expertise as a client advisor and consulting leader sponsor (as appropriate) for engagements across our core capabilities.

  • Lead from the front through excellent client delivery as a billable leader (100% utilized)

  • Prioritize account meetings and strategy sessions to share intel among leaders and consultants for account growth and expansion.

  • Explore and create new solution opportunities, look for every opportunity to level up our current SIC work and create value added solutions out of the work we are doing today.

 
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Ability to lead, partner, and work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment, despite ambiguity and no formal authority.
  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise in the relevant practice area.
  • Experienced in polished business writing and presentation skills.
  • Excellent listening skills and ability to communicate effectively with executives and diverse audiences.
  • Ability to conduct business with transparency and integrity.
  • Business acumen and understanding of industries, domains, and use cases to inform and direct the practice-specific work.
  • Proven track record of delivering, managing, and growing consulting services or related business unit/function.
  • Must have excellent client-facing skills including communication, presentation, and relationship management capabilities.
  • Proven people leader with experience managing and mentoring a team to reach its full potential.
  • 10+ years of experience in management consulting with a focus on providing business value.
  • 10+ years leading concurrent projects and managing senior client relationships.
  • Bachelor's degree (preferred).
 
$180,000 - $235,000 a year
Base salary + Incentive Plan
