Job Description
The manager advances a culture of continuous learning and care by designing and overseeing training, mentoring, coaching, and professional development programs that enhance employee performance, leadership readiness, and organizational effectiveness. This role ensures onboarding is comprehensive and welcoming, develops tools and programs to support effective team and committee leadership, and manages compliance and mandatory training initiatives.
In addition, the manager evaluates workforce structures, identifies skill gaps, and advises leadership on strategic workforce planning, retention, and succession initiatives that support career advancement. The position also leads special projects, prepares HR reports, implements policies, and manages compliance programs such as Statement of Economic Interest and Conflict of Interest filings, all to strengthen workforce sustainability and institutional success.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, Education, or a related field, or a bachelor's degree with equivalent professional experience.
Demonstrated progressive human resources experience in talent development, employee engagement, workforce planning, succession planning, or related areas, with the ability to lead initiatives that support organizational effectiveness and employee growth.
Experience designing, implementing, and evaluating learning and leadership development programs.
Experience designing, implementing, and evaluating learning and development programs, leadership development initiatives, or HR programs from inception to completion.
Experience with HRIS systems, including BANNER, LMS, performance management, applicant tracking, etc.
Knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, or learning technologies to support employee and leadership development.
Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple, complex initiatives simultaneously and prioritize based on strategic and operational goals.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to build relationships, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and influence leadership in support of a culture of care.
Demonstrated capacity to lead projects and initiatives, partner with leadership, and direct others.
Preferred Qualifications:
Higher education experience in human resources at a manager level
Experience utilizing HRIS systems including BANNER, performance management system, applicant and position description tracking system, learning management systems (LMS), etc.
Experience leading organizational development initiatives, implementing change management strategies, or consulting with leadership to enhance organizational effectiveness.
Certifications in human resources, talent development, or related fields, such as SHRM-SCP or SPHR, CPTD or ATD-related certifications, executive or leadership coaching certifications, change management certifications, or other relevant professional credentials.
