We are looking to speak to Big Data Architects or developers, or in fact, anyone who has legitimately been through 1 full life cycle using any Cloudera product to drive Big Data Strategies in an organization.

Requirements (various combinations are acceptable):


  • Hadoop (and Hadoop stack tech, Hive, MapReduce, HBase, Pig… ), EC2, Cassandra, etc.
    Amazon’s EMR, Cloudera… Linux, C, C++, Java, Perl, Python, RoR, Node.js and more

  • Candidate’s knowledge and skills should also span the Cloud Computing World.
    Experience with Map/Reduce technologies

    • Experience with one or more of the following languages:

      • Hadoop, Java, JavaScript, HTML, XML, Oracle, MySQL, PHP, Perl, .net, C, C++, C#, XML/XSD/XSLT, JSP/HTML, Groovy, Python for Java, Java Spring Framework. Apache, MapReduce, HBase, ZooKeeper



    • Experience with one or more of the following operating systems:

      • Redhat, CentOS, Ubunto, UNIX, LINUX, SunOS, MS Windows, VMWare ESX, Solaris 8-10, SE LINUX



    • Experience with one or more of the following Application/Database Servers:

      • Apache Hadoop, JBoss, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server 2005



    • Has experience and in-depth knowledge in Big Data Solutions and Hadoop ecosystem including MapReduce, Hive, Pig, Impala

    • Experience with any Hadoop distribution/environment

      • AWS, Datastax, HortonWorks, MapR, Cloudera, etc



    • Experience writing quality map/reduce/serde code to parse/process data streams using Java/Python/C

    • Has experience in any of the NoSQL databases: MongoDB; CouchDB; DynamoDB; Cassandra; HBase

    • Hands-on experience with any of the ETL (Extract-Transform-Load) tools (e.g Informatica, Datastage, Talend, Kettle, Ab-Initio.)

    • Hands-on experience with Implementing Hadoop applications (e.g. administration, configuration management, monitoring, debugging, and performance tuning)

    • Previous experience with any of the RDBMS (Teradata, DB2, MySQL, SQL Server)




Required Education:


BS in Computer Science is a plus, but not a must. However, candidates should have strong knowledge of CS fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, memory management and more.
