Job description

Summary Provides technical engineering and implementation support to customers for a variety of equipment and services sold by the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Performs system maintenance on complex communications systems.
  • Provides technical support and implementation assistance to Sales Division and customers.
  • Assists Chief Engineer with the design and proofing of systems.
  • Assists journeyman technicians in troubleshooting complex system failures.
  • Analyzes advanced technological problems and recommends solutions or alternatives.
  • Aids other technicians with system installations and staging.
  • Coordinates complicated system installations and manages projects.
  • Creates technical system drawings.
  • Provides system support and training to end-users.

    Education and/or Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in RF electronic technologies plus more than 8 years related experience and/or training in maintaining and troubleshooting complex communications systems; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Three to five years’ experience in 2-way radio and wireless communication systems theory. Able to use computer and program, troubleshoot, perform diagnostics, and repair complex communication systems.
    • Experience in diagnostics, repair, maintenance, program wireless communication equipment such as 2-way radios, transmitters, receivers, antennas for customers.
    • Experienced with dispatch consoles, paging infrastructure, and trunked radio systems. Knowledge of radio repair, mobile installations, DC, AC, and RF Theory as it applies to wireless communications.
