Job description

Job Title: Systems Test Technician Location: Carson, CA Type: Direct Hire Compensation: $90,000.00 - $114,000.00 Work Model: Onsite

Responsibilities

  • Generate reports on all routine tests and testing activities.
  • Troubleshoot issues found during testing to identify root cause and make necessary repairs.
  • Execute tests according to testing procedures and established processes.
  • Demonstrate good working knowledge of computers, data recorders, digital multimeters, various measurement instruments, pneumatic/hydraulic gauges, and various hand tools.
  • Demonstrate ability to read and understand electrical schematics and wire lists.
  • Clearly document and report any anomaly or failure found during test execution.
  • Demonstrate growth in understanding and optimization of test execution and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge and comprehension of schematics, block diagrams, wire lists, and functional diagrams, along with knowledge of basic electronics and operation of 12VDC-72VDC, 220VAC-480VAC, and 750DC systems.
  • Support mechanical installations and repairs on rail vehicles as needed.
  • Support the installation of electrical panels, equipment, and components, with good understanding of operation to troubleshoot electrical issues.
  • Maintain technician safety awareness and follow all applicable safety procedures.
  • Perform any other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor/manager.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Electrical Engineering Degree desirable.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical testing or related field.
  • Must be able to work different shifts and overtime as needed.
  • Must be able to work in heavy industrial environments, including outside in rail yards.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces, standing or crouching for long periods.
