Job description

Responsibilities

An Enterprise Requirements Engineer is needed to help architect and manage projects for a federal government agency by coordinating with stakeholders, project managers, and the development team. This position would have the technical knowledge to communicate the decomposition of requirements into technical implementation across all the projects that this agency is involved in. Many stakeholders give similar or the same requirements on their projects and those items each get implemented separately historically in a silo. The Enterprise Requirements Engineer would be responsible for defining requirements for the Information Technology organization in a way that would reduce multiple similar requests across the enterprise and result in reductions in manual labor and time to build out what would otherwise be each requirement separately. This position would be responsible for working across multiple teams to understand the technical aspects of each project and breaking down the information into enterprise project plans to span multiple projects and assist project managers to track work against.

*This position requires full-time, onsite attendance Monday through Friday in the Baltimore metropolitan area.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Familiarity with the DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF).
  • Basic understanding of new technologies (Containerization, Kubernetes).
  • Awareness of Microservice and Service Oriented Architecture patterns.
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Experience in requirements gathering, decomposition, and alignment across multiple efforts.
  • Knowledge in requirement gathering tools (Jira/Confluence).
  • Awareness of business process modeling and analysis.
  • Understanding of security and compliance requirements for enterprise systems.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree and 12+ years experience, or Master's degree and 10+ years experience, or PhD and 7+ years experience. A degree in one of the following fields of study is highly desired: Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or Data Science. However, an additional 4 years of relevant experience or specialized training may be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
  • Security Clearance: Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility.

Highly Desired Certifications:

  • A+, CCNA-Sec, CND, Net+, CySA+, or Security+
