Northrop Grumman's Space Systems Sector is seeking aReliability Systems Engineer- Level 3to join our team in Redondo Beach, CA.

*This position is contingent upon the candidate obtaining final clearances and program access(es) within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company. Continued employment thereafter will be subject to maintenance of the level of clearance and program access required for the position in the future.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

-Serve as the Availability and Timeliness Thread lead responsible for supporting the requirements-thru-verification "threads" associated with availability, reliability, and timeliness tasking; this includes performing system reliability and availability modeling/prediction/analysis, timeliness data collection/analysis, and technical performance metric (TPM) tracking.

-Lead the reliability and availability support to the design team through the performance of design tradeoffs, allocation of requirements, failure rate data collection/estimation, development of technical solutions to reliability and availability problems, and provide support to design reviews.

-Understand and interpret system/unit architectures and identify/assess failure modes and events that cause downtime.

Basic Qualifications for Reliability Systems Engineer- Level 3:

-Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline plus 5+ years of engineering experience OR

-Master's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline plus 3+ years of engineering experience OR

-PhD in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline plus 1+ year(s) of engineering experience

-Experience with or exposure to probability and statistical tools/principles

-Ability to perform various reliability engineering related tasks, such as, reliability modeling/predictions/assessments, failure rate estimation/assessments, and availability modeling/analysis

-Familiarity with understanding and interpreting system architecture and functional block diagrams

-Candidate must have activeSCIaccess at time of application and prior to start dateOR

-Candidate must have an activeU.S. Government Top Secretsecurity clearance (or equivalent) at time of application and prior to start dateas well as theability to obtain and maintain activeSCIaccess within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company. Continued employment thereafter will be subject to the candidate's maintenance of the level of clearance and program access required for the position in the future.

Preferred Qualifications for Reliability Systems Engineer- Level 3:

-Bachelor's degree or above in an Engineering discipline.

-Understanding of technical principles, theories, subsystem design, and knowledge of general satellite design.

-Ability to combine hands-on Reliability Analysis and modeling skills for satellites and systems.

-Familiarity with modeling/simulation software tools used for reliability and availability analysis.

-Availability modeling and analysis experience or exposure.

-Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and failure rate estimation experience or exposure.

-Advanced user in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.

-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

-ActiveU.S. Government Top Secretsecurity clearance (or equivalent) clearance along with activeSCIaccess at time of application and prior to start date.

Primary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
