Network Infrastructure Engineer


On behalf of our client, Procom Services is searching for a Network Infrastructure Engineer for a contract opportunity in Folsom, CA. 


Network Infrastructure Engineer Job Details


Primary responsibilities involve administration of various network/systems resources in support of Solid-State Drive (SSDs) development and manufacturing. This will include setup/configuration of Windows servers, remote monitoring, administration and debug of server issues, documentation of support procedures and other general administrative duties. Will likely also involve software script maintenance/development in support of various processes (such as automated file transfers). 


Employee will be responsible for determination and deployment of robust, stable, and manageable computing and network services. Manage technical projects. Determine site computing and network server strategy. Research new technology/products/tools. Monitor and perform capacity/feasibility studies and resolve network capacity issues. Identify, develop, and deploy tools supporting network server services. Perform impact analysis of new technologies on environment. Analyze and troubleshoot complex and advanced problems. Plans and schedules work to meet deadlines established by others to ensure the completion of several related tasks. Uses judgment in data analysis to develop and design solutions for moderately complex processes. 


Network Infrastructure Engineer Mandatory Skills


The qualified individual must possess Linux Server, Windows server and network administration experience. They must take initiative and have strong, sound troubleshooting skills. Ability to remotely monitor, support and debug network and server issues on their own is critical. 


Experience and skills required: 


- Minimum 5-7 years of Network and Server Support experience required for this position. 

- Need 5-6 years of experience with Linux RedHat, SLES and Ubuntu operating systems. 

- Need 5-6 years of experience with Win7, Win8 and Microsoft Server 2008, 2012 operating systems. 

- Need 5-6 years of experience troubleshooting network connectivity, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Network connectivity and performance issues in a large enterprise / corporate network environment. 

- Need 5-6 years experience supporting and troubleshooting Active Directory in a multi-domain and global networking environment. 

- Needs 4-5 years networking experience specifically cabling, installing and configuring managed rack mounted switches in lab environments. 

- Needs 4-5 years experience with Virtual Server and clustering, specifically with HyperV, VMWare and vCenter. 

- Needs 4-5 years experience supporting and troubleshooting SQL 2008 and 1-2 years SQL 2012 experience. 

- Experience writing scripts in one or more software script languages, preferably PowerShell, Python or VB. 

- Needs to be able to manage Technical Project deliverables related to Network and Server initiatives. 

- Needs to be a self-starter, take initiative and able to work with minimal supervision 

- Strong customer service and eagerness to resolve issues in a timely manner. 

- Strong written and verbal communications skills. 

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
