Job Description
TCS is searching for a Senior Systems Administrator - Jira to join our strong team of Engineers supporting our Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) customer in Huntsville, AL. The GMD program is a portion of the Missile Defense Agency's (MDA) system to protect the US and our allies from ballistic missile attacks. The selected candidate will use modern tools to further the development and sustainment of the GMD system.
This is an in-office position. Remote work is not available.
Role:
TCS is looking for a skilled Jira System Administrator to join our team. The Jira System Administrator will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Jira software in unclassified and classified environments. They will collaborate with stakeholders to customize Jira workflows, dashboards, and reports to meet the needs of the organization.
Essential Functions:
  • Install, configure, and maintain Jira software and related plugins.
  • Customize Jira workflows, screens, fields, and dashboards to meet business requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and implement Jira solutions.
  • Provide support and troubleshooting for Jira-related issues.
  • Perform upgrades and migrations of Jira software.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for Jira systems and processes.
  • Stay current on Jira best practices and new features to optimize system performance.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Experience: 8 Years with Bachelor of Science; 6 Years with Masters; 3 Years with PhD; or 12 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Current DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (i.e., Security+, CISSP, etc.)
  • In-depth knowledge of Jira software and its capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of software development processes.
  • Proven experience as a Jira System Administrator or similar role.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Jira Administrator certification is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Scripting using Bash, PowerCLI, PowerShell
  • Experience with Dell Powerstore storage solutions
  • Experience with Veeam Backup and Replication
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)
  • Knowledge of scripting and automation (e.g., Ansible Automation, Python)
  • Experience configuring Confluence and Atlassian tools
  • Experience with administration of Linux and Windows devices
