Job description

Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative has an immediate opening for a Transmission System Operations Manager. The primary function of this position will be to ensure compliance with NERC standards and fulfillment of the Transmission Owner (TO) responsibilities in the PJM RTO. In addition, this position will authorize all field switching activities, organize all personnel development and develop/maintain divisional procedures. Lastly, this position will manage the operation and utilization of the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA), the Energy Management System (EMS) and the Integrated Tools for Operations application (iTOA).
This position requires a four-year college degree or equivalent experience with an emphasis in math, statistics, basic electricity, with specialized training in electric utility operation and maintenance. Some computer courses preferred. The candidate must be NERC and PJM Certified with seven or more years of progressive experience in the operation, construction and maintenance of electric utility systems with emphasis in a Control Center environment. Supervisory, administrative, and SCADA experience is required.
The starting salary range for this position is $103,100 - $138,800. SMECO offers an excellent benefits program including a 401(k) 6% dollar for dollar match and an additional 3% non-elective company contribution.
