Job Description

CSCI consulting is seeking a System Architect - MDDI MBSE to support a large-scale Department of Defense (DoD) digital engineering and SAP S/4HANA transformation program. This role will lead the development of enterprise architecture and system models using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies to enable mission-critical transportation and logistics capabilities.

You will work within a mature digital engineering environment, partnering with cross-functional teams to design scalable, integrated solutions and drive adoption of the digital thread across the program lifecycle.

Responsibilities
  • Lead development and maintenance of system, operational, data, and integration architecture using MBSE and DoDAF/UAF frameworks
  • Develop and manage system models (SysML/UML) capturing requirements, interfaces, workflows, and end-to-end mission threads with full traceability
  • Drive digital engineering strategy, including adoption of the digital thread, authoritative models, and model-driven decision making
  • Translate business, operational, and technical requirements into scalable solution architectures supporting enterprise systems and integrations
  • Define integration patterns, interface specifications, and interoperability requirements across DoD and partner systems
  • Establish architecture governance, modeling standards, and technical baselines; support design reviews and leadership briefings
  • Collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, functional, and program teams to resolve risks, gaps, and cross-domain dependencies
  • Contribute to technology roadmaps, transition planning, and implementation strategies for enterprise transformation
Minimum Requirements
  • U.S. citizenship with an active Secret clearance or ability to obtain one
  • 7+ years of experience designing enterprise, system, or solution architectures in DoD or comparable environments
  • Demonstrated systems engineering capability, including decomposition of complex systems and modeling of structure, behavior, interfaces, and data
  • Working knowledge of SysML/UML modeling approaches and experience with recognized MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo, MagicDraw, Sparx EA, Rhapsody, GENESYS)
  • Familiarity with DoDAF, UAF, or similar architecture frameworks
  • Strong communication skills, including experience briefing technical concepts to senior stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to brief technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Creativity and adaptability in problem-solving
  • Ability to work with clients to understand their needs
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional presence
Preferred Skills
  • Active Secret clearance
  • 5+ years of hands-on MBSE / digital engineering experience in complex systems environments
  • Experience supporting DoD logistics, transportation, or ERP modernization programs
  • Experience integrating COTS/ERP platforms with custom DoD systems
  • Familiarity with cloud architectures, DevSecOps, or zero trust environments in DoD (e.g., AWS GovCloud, IL4/IL5)
  • Knowledge of DoD acquisition lifecycle and business process reengineering
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., INCOSE CSEP/ESEP, OCSMP, TOGAF, SAFe, AWS/Azure)
  • Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently
  • Strong customer and vendor relationship skills
  • Demonstrated ability to comply with data standards and policies
  • Motivation to learn new technologies and methodologies that demonstrate value
