The ideal candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. Insurance, Risk Management, Actuarial Sciences, or Finance/Business majors are preferred. A High level of proficiency in computer skills including MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) is required. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics, data, and analytics.


Position Overview:


The Insurance Analyst - Commercial Insurance position serves as a developmental platform, ideal for analytically inclined individuals eager to apply their quantitative skills to serve clients in the real estate industry. It is a developmental role designed for those just entering the Commercial Insurance field.

  • Utilize advanced data systems to evaluate potential risks and generate premium estimates for client acquisitions in the commercial real estate sector.
  • Use the latest data software to create detailed replacement cost estimates, crucial for asset valuations, and engage in substantive discussions with clients and market analysts.
  • Methodically compile and refine data for exposure schedules, identifying and addressing any gaps to enhance decision-making accuracy.
  • Skillfully complete required documents and essential forms to facilitate market submissions, ensuring seamless client transactions.
  • Dive deep into client loss data, extracting meaningful insights and crafting comprehensive narratives to inform market strategies and client interactions.
  • Keep abreast of evolving Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac insurance guidelines, adeptly reviewing contracts to negotiate and secure optimal coverage terms.
  • Design and manage Premium Allocation and bound premium spreadsheets, refining current client estimates, and strategically positioning deals in the market.
  • Generate critical insurance documentation such as Broker of Record, Loss Authorization Letters, and Certificates of Insurance to support new and ongoing client engagements.
  • Engage with cutting-edge tools, including our web-based Agency Management System and Power BI, to enhance client presentations and streamline operational processes.
  • Analyze insurance quotes, create compelling proposals, and clarify coverage options to clients, ensuring informed decision-making.
  • Become adept at online quoting with multiple carriers, enhancing your ability to quickly respond to client needs.
  • Create and provide Acquisition Pricing Spreadsheet per property once a property goes under contract.
  • Creates Midterm Pricing Spreadsheet for midterm changes during refinances.
  • Obtain flood determinations, as needed, by unit for insured locations.
  • Performs ongoing tasks related to assisting Agents/Brokers with proper client documentation.
  • Utilize mathematics background create and refine algorithms that automate and improve the accuracy of premium calculations, risk assessments, and other insurance-related metrics.
  • Extract and analyze large datasets to uncover trends, predict outcomes, and provide actionable insights.
  • Conduct research using quantitative methods to evaluate the effectiveness of existing insurance policies and explore new products or modifications to increase market share and client satisfaction.
  • Prepare detailed statistical reports that analyze the portfolio performance, including loss ratios, claim frequency, and other key performance indicators relevant to commercial real estate insurance.
  • Ensure swift responses to client inquiries, efficiently gathering and dispatching signed documents to underwriters. This role also involves securing additional details required to complete bind requests from agents, such as loss runs and No Known Loss Letters, thereby streamlining the binding process.
  • Utilize presentation software and our Agency Management Systems to craft comprehensive client summary packages, engaging marketing materials, and detailed proposals. This responsibility enhances the presentation and delivery of information crucial for agent support and client decision-making.
  • Produce a wide range of business communications including general correspondence, client binders, memos, and financial reports. Skilled in synthesizing complex data into accessible charts, tables, and graphs to support business operations and client understanding.

  • Assists agents/brokers with day-to-day tasks and special projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university is required. Insurance, Risk Management, Actuarial Sciences, or Finance/Business major preferred.
  • Strong mathematical, data and analytics skills are required.
  • Must possess or be actively working towards a Property and Casualty Insurance License (2-20 or 4-40). Must obtain a 4-40 license or 2-20 within first 90 days. Must obtain a 2-20 within the first 12 months in position.
  • High level of proficiency in computer skills including MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) is required. Knowledge of general database / client management software required along with a willingness and ability to learn new software programs including Adobe InDesign, PowerPoint etc.as needed is required.
  • AMS 360 proficiency or similar industry software experience a plus.
  • Ability to type 45-50 wpm or faster required.
  • Additional coursework or related insurance industry experience a plus.
  • Entry level. Prior work or internship experience in insurance, real estate, analytics, or math is a plus.
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex business documents and multi-tiered insurance models is required.
  • Skill set related to business development, cultivation, and relationship management with ability to identify customer needs and effectively communicate, position, negotiate, and drive solutions sales.
