Systems Administrator

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Systems Administrator you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on Systems Administrator joining our team to perform systems and server administration tasks including day-to-day user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, print services. Assists in the build, implementation, test, maintenance, and decommissioning of site systems within the network. Provides resource monitoring and analysis to ensure system architecture components are integrated and performing as intended. Monitors site datacenter performance using analytic tools. Provides technical analysis and leverages systems administration knowledge to review anomalies, capacity utilization, database performance, bulletins, event logs, and alerts within the network infrastructure. Installs and maintains system monitoring, analysis, and reporting tools.
HOW A SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems
Ability to operate under supervision
Execute day-to-day management and operations of systems and networks
Manage COTS & GOTS products to collect, display and remediate a variety of automated system security and system operations/performance functions and metrics
Follow Operations and Maintenance (O&M) checklists to maintain the service (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly O&M checklists); build Tactics, Techniques and Processes (TTPs) and Standard Operating Processes (SOPs) associated with service checklists
Operate monitoring tools/capabilities with the enterprise security information and event management (SIEM) and create/tailor complex event alarms/rules and summary reports
Assist in analyzing technical risk, upon request, of emerging cybersecurity tools and processes
Work as part of a security incident response team as needed
Maintains systems to meet Enterprise Service Availability and Service Level Agreement requirements.
Utilizes IT Service Management (ITSM) Principles to identify, categorize, prioritize, escalate, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents.
Maintains systems security and ensures compliance with security policies and procedures.
Assists with the development of third-party monitoring actions and procedures for network infrastructure.
WHAT YOULL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree*
Required Experience: 1+ years of related experience
Required Technical Skills:

  • Must meet DOW 8570 requirements and be eligible for IAT level II access upon hire for positions with elevated privileges. Requirements include possessing and maintaining Security Plus CE. Additional specific certifications may be required, depending on job assignment.

  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving and collaborative skills

Security Clearance Level: Secret


Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and multi-task while still ensuring high quality of work.

  • Experience working directly with hardware vendors involved in the incident resolution process.


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with STIG patching, compliance, and other security activities

  • NOC/SOC operations background you've been in the trenches and know what works

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $79,900 - $108,100. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
