Job description

Job Summary: Network Administrator reports directly to the IT System Administrator Supervisor. Responsibilities include monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues and ensuring the security and efficiency of IT infrastructure. This position will work closely with the IT System Administrator Supervisor and offer suggestions and ideas for future network capacity planning to ensure the K&M Tire network runs consistently and efficiently.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks.
  2. Installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment including routers, switches, load balancers, VPN, and QoS.
  3. Procuring network equipment and managing installers involved with network installation.
  4. Configuring firewalls, routing, and switching to maximize network efficiency and security.
  5. Arranging scheduled upgrades and updating network equipment to latest firmware releases.
  6. Investigating faults in the network while troubleshooting issues and outages.

Job Requirements:
  1. Understanding of SIP and Phone Management.
  2. Understanding of Active Directory.
  3. Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
  4. Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., Flex VPN, EIGRP, 802.11, QoS).
  5. Solid understanding of the OSI model.
  6. Create and maintain building schematics with our facilities team.
  7. Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostics and network analytic tools.
  8. Ability to install wiring, equipment, and run a scissor lift.
  9. Familiarity with project management concepts.
  10. Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude.
  11. Must have the ability to work independently.
  12. Must be willing and able to work after normal business hours or weekends.
  13. Must be willing to do occasional traveling to other locations within the company.

Network Administrator I Minimum Qualifications:
Associate Computer Science degree or equivalent experience.
CCNA or equivalent knowledge level.
2 years of experience in routing, switching, wireless, and VPN technology.
Network Administrator II Minimum Qualifications:
Computer Science bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
5 years of experience in routing, switching, and VPN technology.
