  • The Leidos Defense group has an opening for a highly motivated individual. The System Administration II position at MacDill AFB, FL supports the Global Solutions Management-Operations II (GSM-O II), Joint Communications Support Element (JCSE). The JCSE team provides en-route, early entry, scalable C4 support to Regional Combatant Commands, Special Operations Command, and other agencies. In this role, you will be responsible for system assessments, and providing hands-on engineering support. Key elements of this position include: Participate in evaluation, selection, implementation and on-going support of software, hardware and tools used by the Enterprise Infrastructure platform; Respond to End User requests for technical support and assistance within established procedures; providing Tier II support to the Joint Network Operations Center (JNOC); developing, engineering, and recommending hardware and software solutions; and conducting cybersecurity mitigations on design solutions to comply with Risk Management Framework (RMF) cybersecurity requirements.

Responsibilities include:
  • Responsible for implementing, tuning and maintaining LINUX server, MS Server, MS Domain Controller, MS Exchange, and VMWare vCenter, VIEW VDI, and VMware Horizon View based solutions running on virtualized infrastructure.
  • Support SCCM Systems Manager with all aspects of server maintenance, enterprise workstation imaging, application updates and deployments and issue resolution.
  • Designs, implements, configures, and maintains MS Server instances running on ESXi and VMware vSphere for server consolidation and virtualization.
  • Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Storage Area Networks (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) attached to VMware environments.
  • Manages Active Directory Certificate Services (ADCS) and deploys Internet Information Services (IIS) on the DC.
  • Troubleshoots, isolates and identifies problems with all servers.
  • Monitor and manage system resources and log files to maintain operating efficiency.
  • Perform systems security and user administration functions
  • Design, implement and maintain a consistent backup and disaster recovery plan.
  • Provide technical direction on network topologies, server configurations, hardware software deployments and other administrative tasks related to production servers.
  • Document technical requirements, system changes, facilitate design sessions and architectural reviews.
  • Perform vulnerability and risk analyses of computer systems and applications during all phases of the system development life cycle.
  • Support updates to and maintenance of the POA&Ms for the JCSE Enterprise. Support development of RMF Security Plans and assist in the creation and updating of RMF accreditation packages.
  • Perform system and application patching as required to maintain the server's Authority to Operate (ATO) status through the Certification and Accreditation (C&A) and Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems and respond to escalated requests for technical assistance.
  • Have flexible working hours to be available to support team when needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security+ce, CCNA Security, CySA+, etc.)
  • Virtualization, LINUX or Microsoft Certification
  • Education: Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of experience; additional years of directly applicable experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Clearance: Secret
