Summary of Job Duties:
The Research Administration Systems and Process Manager is responsible for the implementation, administration, integration, support, and continuous improvement of research administration systems, workflows, and processes across the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture (UADA). Through the application of workflow design, automation, system integration, and process improvement, the position develops and maintains solutions that enhance efficiency, reduce administrative burden, improve the researcher experience, and support institutional research objectives.
The position bridges research administration, research compliance, technology, and other research-related administrative units to deliver practical, scalable solutions. While primarily focused on research administration systems and processes supporting the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station (AAES) and Cooperative Extension Service (CES), the position may also leverage its expertise to support research-related strategic administrative initiatives across UADA that advance productivity, innovation, and organizational effectiveness.
This position reports directly to the AAES Associate Director of Research Development and Compliance. This is not an information technology position; rather, it is a research administration position with systems expertise that requires close collaboration with UADA Information Technology and other institutional stakeholders.
This is an on-site position based in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and is not eligible for remote work. Occasional in-state travel, including travel to Little Rock and other Division locations, is required.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Three years of experience in research administration or research compliance
  • One year of experience in a supervisory or managerial role
  • Experience administering, implementing, supporting, or optimizing enterprise systems or workflow platforms
  • Experience analyzing and developing process improvements, workflow solutions, or system enhancements
  • Experience developing and delivering training, guidance materials, or user support services
  • Must be able to work on-site in Fayetteville, Arkansas; remote work is not available.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience administering research administration platforms (e.g., Streamlyne, InfoReady)
  • Experience developing workflow automation or low-code/no-code solutions using platforms such as Microsoft Power Platform and Sharepoint
  • Experience using Workday or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
  • Experience supporting research administration and research compliance activities
  • Experience supporting complex or multi-unit organizations
  • Experience working directly with faculty, researchers, and administrative personnel
  • Experience coordinating with software vendors and technology partners during system implementations, upgrades, or enhancements

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Knowledge of research administration, sponsored programs, and research compliance requirements and processes
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
