Job Title: Quality Operator

Location: Monroe, CT

Position Type: Full-Time

Shift: 10:30pm - 6:30am, M-F

Biomerics offers Swiss machining with integrated laser cutting on precision medical tubing. Laser/Swiss machining enables features to be machined, and laser cut in the same process. Our core competency lies in smaller medical components, produced with high accuracy and repeatability. Traditional Swiss screw machining capability is also available for rapid prototyping and production.


In addition, Biomerics utilizes five axis milling machines capable of producing complex finished components, while holding extremely tight tolerances.


Job Description: We are always looking for talented Quality Operators to assist in advancing our quality objectives to produce parts to customer specifications every time and on time and to continually improve the effectiveness of our quality management system. The successful applicant will be an excellent team player, possess exceptional analytical skills, and the drive to continually learn and grow with the company.


Representative Responsibilities:

  • Reads and understand blueprints and specifications
  • Approves incoming, in-process, and finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to production supervisors, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work.
  • May function as a point of contact to confer about issues as appropriate.
  • Utilizes microscope at 10-30X magnification to ensure high-quality products with no visual defects
  • Utilizes measuring instruments such as video measurement systems, comparators, height gages, microscopes, CMM's, and handheld gauges and tools.
  • Discusses inspection results with those responsible for products.
  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing rework and waste; inputting data into a quality database.
  • Support the established QMS/QA processes and as needed working with internal resources to recommend a change to maintain high-quality processes.
  • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.

Requirements

Desired Skills, Talents, and Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Quality Operator or Inspector in a machining or high-tech manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Educational background in light industrial trades and/or in a post-secondary vocational program is a plus.
  • Proficiency utilizing microscopes for visual inspection is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency utilizing a wide range of measuring instruments; experience with CMM's, video measurement systems, comparators, height gages strongly preferred.
  • Must have GD&T knowledge
  • Demonstrated research and documentation skills.
