Job Overview

The Nikkiso Applied Technologies Business Unit is looking for a Vice President Manufacturing and Supply Chain to lead and manage its multiple global fabrication centers including manufacturing operations and supply chain management. In addition, the position will be responsible for safety, quality, on time delivery, cost, and sponsoring lean manufacturing initiatives across the fabrication centers. As a key strategic leader reporting the Business Unit President, this position will be responsible for the profit and loss of the centers. It requires a strategic approach to aligning the methodologies employed across the group using a data driven approach to ensure consistency, efficiency, and repeatability. The VP Manufacturing and Supply Chain will be expected to drive a strong culture of customer service, global teamwork and collaboration, global execution focus, production innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement throughout the global product companies of the business unit.

Annual Salary: $215,000 to $265,000 plus bonus opportunity

Responsibilities
  • Global operational responsibility for fabrication centers.ย  Fabrication processes include metal fabrication, and welding, with stainless steel and aluminum.
  • Review rationalization of global manufactured products and make recommendations to the leadership team regarding global product manufacturing strategy.ย  Products include liquefiers, piping, pressure vessels, vaporizers, and related process equipment for cryogenic process systems and heat exchanger applications.
  • Work closely with Sales, Engineering and Project Management to manage/optimize production capacity, meet budgets and schedule.
  • Identify opportunities and implement changes to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs using knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, product design, materials, and parts.
  • Establish production standards, develop budget and cost controls, and obtain and utilize strategic data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
  • Direct and/or recommend the development and execution of manufacturing process plans, including personnel and safety requirements, purchasing needs, subcontract requirements, information technology needs, facility needs, and tooling and equipment needs.
  • Coordinate manufacturing activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of personnel, machines, and equipment.
  • Find opportunities for optimizing the supply chain through localization, verticalization, strategic agreements, leveraging economies of scale and other typical strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree preferred in engineering, engineering management, or operations management, or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience whereby requisite knowledge, skills and abilities have been demonstrated.
  • Minimum 10 to 15 years of experience managing industrial equipment fabrication; including P&L responsibility, meeting project budgets, and schedule commitments.
  • High regard for quality and safety systems, ability to manage a team of safety and quality experts.
  • Experience operating multiple production facilities, both domestically and internationally is preferred.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in Supply Chain Management is a plus.
  • Good commercial and technical acumen, knowledge of business and management principles involved with strategic planning, resource allocation, production methods and coordination of resources.

  • Organizational skills: Manages and completes duties and projects on time and within budget; plans, prioritizes, and organizes work to achieve production goals and objectives with excellent follow through and follow up on assigned duties and projects.
  • Interpersonal skills: Builds positive team spirit by developing constructive and cooperative working relationships and interdepartmental group commitments to effectively influence the actions of others to achieve production goals and objectives.
  • Computer skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, MRP/ERP software, scheduling software.
