Job Summary:
This role is a hands-on, site-embedded quality and continuous improvement resource supporting supplier quality execution within a 3PL warehouse distribution environment. The contractor operates as a performance integrator across receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping, with accountability for improving supplier accuracy, reducing defects and damages, and strengthening post-shipment customer outcomes. Success is defined by measurable, sustained improvement driven through real-time problem solving, disciplined root cause analysis, and strong partnership with OTIS partners, 3PL operations, and suppliers.
Core Responsibilities:
• Collaborates with 3PL operations to assess and improve operational quality through direct floor engagement. This includes identifying and documenting supplier defects, damages, and Tier II-IV non-conformances, while ensuring adherence to supplier quality standards, packaging requirements, work instructions, and product-specific specifications. The role emphasizes audit readiness and QMS discipline without relying on inspection as the primary control.
• Leads root cause analysis of supplier and 3PL-related quality failures, including nonconformance, receiving errors, shipping escapes, and customer complaints. Using structured problem-solving methodologies and specific tools, the contractor works across stakeholders to define, implement, and track corrective and preventive actions that eliminate issues at their source and improve overall distribution flow.
• Performance monitoring is a core requirement, with responsibility for tracking, analyzing, and communicating supplier quality and execution KPIs such as supplier defects, order accuracy, damage rates, OTIF, returns, and claims. The contractor supports scorecards, dashboards, and visual management, translating data into clear actions that drive execution and accountability on the warehouse floor.
• Continuous improvement is delivered through collaboration with 3PL teams to lead Kaizen events, process improvements, and standard work updates. Lean principles are applied to reduce waste, improve flow, and stabilize processes, with improvements aligned to safety, quality, cost, customer expectations, and service level agreements.
Role Differentiation:
This is not a traditional quality audit role. The contractor functions as a connector across 3PL operations, OTIS operations, 3PL quality teams, customers, and the Operations Excellence (OPXL) framework. The focus shifts from inspection-heavy activity to disciplined use of data, ownership of root causes, and sustained corrective action. Strong performance is demonstrated through embedded collaboration in daily operations, leadership of metrics and corrective action reviews, behavioral change driven by data-based evidence, and sustained improvement in KPIs and customer confidence.
Required Competencies:
• The role requires a strong understanding of warehouse and distribution center processes, proficiency with quality tools and data analysis, and demonstrated capability in root cause analysis, lean methodologies, and KPI management.
• Experience with QMS, SOP governance, and audit readiness is essential, along with strong documentation discipline.

Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift 35-50 lbs unassisted
• Frequent walking, standing, bending, and movement throughout the warehouse
• Ability to work safely in an active distribution environment
• Steel-toed or hard-toe footwear required
• PPE required (vest and additional PPE provided onsite)
Required Qualifications
• At least 5 years of experience of relevant work experience.
• High school diploma
