Job description

Position Summary
Position is responsible for preparing loan closing documents for commercial purpose loans such as but not limited to transactions secured by real estate, title vehicles and UCCs and delivery of those loan documentation packages to the lender or attorney, (2) Engaging attorneys for real estate closings and title work, (3) Analyzing title work for outstanding liens and tax exceptions that effect the collateral, (4) Reviewing and analyzing entity documentation to verify proper authorizations by officers of the entity, (5) Pulling and reviewing flood determinations to ensure all Flood Compliance regulations have been adhered to, (6) Ensuring insurance (hazard/liability/flood) is in place prior to closing (7) Verifying that loan has been approved within lending authority limits (8) Preparing commercial loan modifications and/or renewals, (9) Funding commercial loan transactions to include preparing general ledger tickets, internal payoffs or wire forms, (10) Ensuring proper lien perfection on security instruments including Deeds of Trust, Mortgages, UCCs and certain titled collateral on commercial loan transactions prepared by the Commercial Loan Support area, (11) Working loan documentation ticklers (exceptions/deficiencies) associated with documents prepared by Commercial Loan Support area, (12) Working department reports (i.e. UCC Continuation Report, (13) Acting as a resource center for the Loan Officer Assistants for documentation questions or pre-closing review of loan packages, (14) Ensuring loan closing packages adhere to the bank's credit policy, compliance regulations and all other applicable laws as it relates to commercial loan documentation, (15) Adhering to department policy and procedures (16) Providing and delivering exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers, (17) Assisting Commercial Loan Support Manager with day to day workflow and special Projects, including training of new lending personnel and the testing and implementation of new releases to loan documentation system and (18) Partnering with Business Development Officers and Credit Administration to help achieve the business goals of the bank.
General Qualifications
Required Education/Knowledge:
  • Associate's Degree from a two-year college in business related field or equivalent combination of related work experience in banking
  • Thorough understanding of the commercial loan process from loan application to closing/booking of loan
  • Thorough knowledge of commercial loan documentation, commercial compliance regulations, applicable lending regulations and commercial lending terminology

Preferred Education/Knowledge
  • A Paralegal Certificate or Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) in business from a four (4) year college or university is preferred

Required Experience:
  • A minimum of three year's work experience in commercial loan documentation or commercial loan documentation review or commercial lending

Preferred Experience:
  • Laser Pro Documentation System, Fiserv Signature Core Platform System, and Nautilus Imaging System

Required Skills:
  • Ability to review and analyze title opinions, title insurance commitments, flood determinations and commercial closing documents-including notes, security documents and loan agreements
  • Excellent customer service skills, interpersonal skills and communication skills to effectively deal with both internal and external customers
  • Organizational and Time Management Skills
  • Proficient personal computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Power Point and Excel spreadsheets
  • Effectively answer questions of all lending personnel staff
