Job Description:

Join a high-impact team building the next generation of space systems. As a Supply Chain Program Manager (SCPM), you will be the end-to-end supply chain owner for key program and supplier activities -shaping material strategy, developing suppliers, and ensuring that complex hardware is delivered on time, on budget, and to exacting quality standards.

  • Lead Supply Chain execution for key programs
    • Serve as the primary supply chain point of contact for Program Management, Engineering, and Operations.
    • Accountable for material cost, schedule performance, forecasting, risk/opportunity management, and supplier performance.
  • Develop and execute material strategy
    • Lead material planning and strategy across all phases of the Business Acquisition Process (BAP).
    • Validate program plans (schedules, budgets, make/buy decisions, procurement and subcontract strategies) before baselining to ensure they are complete, accurate, and executable.
  • Optimize and develop the supply base
    • Drive supply base optimization including supplier development, dual-sourcing, affordability initiatives, and long-range risk reduction.
    • Assess supplier capacity and capability; ensure supplier readiness and material availability to meet program milestones.
  • Be the liaison to key suppliers
    • Provide hands-on, onsite support at multiple supplier locations (25%-45% travel).
    • Ensure supplier production aligns to demand, quality requirements, and schedule commitments, and actively resolve supply chain issues at the source.
  • Partner on design and DFx
    • Provide technical leadership for DFx initiatives (Design for Manufacturability, Assembly, Test, etc.).
    • Evaluate engineering changes and assess material and supply chain impacts to protect cost, schedule, and quality.
  • Drive cross-functional problem solving & continuous improvement
    • Use structured, cross-functional problem-solving to identify supply chain and operational pain points to deliver sustainable improvements.
    • Champion process improvements that enhance product development and supply chain efficiency and reliability.
  • Manage risk, communicate status, and influence leaders
    • Proactively identify critical supplier risks and opportunities; develop and execute mitigation and recovery plans.
    • Provide clear, data-driven status updates to program and executive leadership on supply chain health, risk posture, and strategy.

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as supply chain / supplier oversight for multiple suppliers with required travel of approximately 25%-45%.
  • Apply strong verbal and written communication skills to influence cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Work across a variety of contract types (e.g., FFP, FPIF, T&M, Labor Hour, Cost Reimbursement with fixed-fee, incentive fee, or award fee).
  • Act as Cost Account Manager for Supply Chain, managing budgets and sales forecasts.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (TS/SCI preferred but not required to start).

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 12 years of prior related experience, OR Graduate degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
  • Demonstrated mastery of program and supply chain management in complex aerospace, defense, or space hardware environments.
  • Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Government clearance.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance (or previously held), preferred but not required to start.
  • Program Management experience, including Earned Value Management (EVM) to monitor performance and control execution.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and relevant agency supplements, with the ability to apply them to procurement and subcontracting.
  • Proven leadership experience driving teams, processes, or projects toward clear deliverables and accountability.
  • Hands-on supplier management experience, including performance oversight, issue resolution, and long-term relationship building.
  • Experience managing complex subcontractors and long-lead materials for development and production programs.
  • Comfortable engaging executive leadership with concise, data-driven communication on status, risk, recovery plans, and supply chain strategy

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $144,000 -$266,000. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, and Vermont is $125,500 - $233,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
